this is a continuation from this thread..
http://www.zilvia.net/f/showthread.php?t=200942

thats basically the background info.

What is new....

-I gapped the spark plugs to .30
-changed the alternator.

I dont know why the car doesnt want to run.
It will run for about... 10-15 minutes.. then if there is no more load...
It just dies.
It wont start back up.

Thought it was the alternator, but got a new one, threw it on...
and same thing happened.

Car wont even start.
I know it gets spark and fuel.. because when I charge the battery at autozone... it will run for that allotted amount of time and die.

I also broke off one of the studs to my exhaust manifold.
Wasnt sure if there was smoke coming from:
the manifold
the manifold leaking
the turbo
or just because i have a big exhaust leak.

Is this my wiring?
Is this turbo related?

ON ANOTHER NOTE:
I will pay to get my car running, so if you are in socal...
Come help me.

it might be from your valve cover?
blow by?

like i said when i tryed a chiped ecu it wasnt reading maps and i tryed to boost after that one night
car wont idle for jack and had mad blowby
=broken ringlands

do a compression test

problem is... car DOES run.
it DOES idle.

but... only for about 15min.....then dies.
as if its just running off the battery.

because after i charge the battery at autozone... the car will run.

Does anyone have a solution?

i had a similar problem on my jeep once, turned out it was a bad coil. You could have a bad ground somewhere causing you to drain your battery. Go through your wiring.

bad alternator, if it runs after charging battery then dies after a few . sounds like the car runs feeding from the battery dried battery then die cause alt is not working

Just replaced the alternator with a brand new one from Autozone.

^ He already changed the alternator.

Sounds like a bad wire/ground somewhere. Somewhere around the alternator/battery.

Volt Gauge reading around 12v where the car would usually start.
So Im leaning towards the distributor coil?

I dunno.

I guess Ill try to check wiring around the alternator tomorrow.

charge the battery, start the car, then disconnect the battery while its running. if the car dies, then you have a problem with the alternator or the wiring to/from the alternator. hope it helps.

Just copy and pasted the following from a site telling me how to check my alternator...

***I don't know who wrote the information below, but I do know he hasn't worked on vehicles since the 70's. DO NOT DISCONNECT YOUR VEHICLES BATTERY WHILE THE ENGINE IS RUNNING. You risk costly damage to your vehicles electronics*** Open the hood, and with the car engine (http://www.wikihow.com/Clean-a-Car-Engine) off, loosen the negative battery cable so that it can be removed with little effort. With the battery (http://www.wikihow.com/Change-a-Car-Battery) cable still loosely attached to the terminal, crank the engine, then pull the battery cable completely free of the terminal. If the engine continues to run, the alternator is providing enough voltage to power the electric circuits that provide spark to the spark plugs, electric fuel pumps, etc. You can increase the demand on the alternator by turning on headlamps, heater blower fans, and other electrical accessories to determine the draw capability of your alternator. If the engine immediately dies when the cable is removed, the alternator is probably bad.

I hope not.

i would check the voltage while it runs. should read 13.something volts.

to me, it definately sounds like a alternator issue.

I really wonder what it is...
I;m thinking its something on the ignition part of my car.

When I go to start my car, I hear the starter cranking the engine and it sounds normal, as if the voltage was where its supposed to be..

On top of that, the voltage doesnt go below 11v..
and goes back up to 12v when i turn it off and put it back on.

hmmph. works on my s13. go with what you are comfortable i guess.

Omg.... I feel stupid.

Thanks for that.
I don;t know why I didnt think of it before...
The wire to my distribution block [I relocated my battery to the back]
was loose... not touching the contacts... but it looked like it was in.
Silly me.:spank:

Now to Replace the stud on my manifold, so that it will build boost better.

Everyone who replied gets posi.

glad to hear you got it figured out man.

Whats even more weird... was it was a combination of problems...

figured out another reason was because my fuel pump was getting fuel because the conversion harness wouldnt be plugged in all the way or the wires or something.

So I was missing power and fuel. killer...
