alright, so i just pulled out my ca18 and swapped in a blacktop s13 sr20det.
everything is plugged in i believe and all of the grounds are down tight (the two on the 4th runner on the intake manifold, battery ground, coilpack, etc)
the problem: the ecu is not getting power. the ecu is not fried because i swapped it out and tried it on my buddy's car that we swapped.
here's the deal:
when key is on ign (all three wires below are on the big grey plug behind the passenger side headlight):
-black-red has 12.25v
-red has 0v
-black-white has 0v (naturally, because the ecu is not clicking on)
so, i hotwired the red into the black-red and they are now getting 12.22v each.
i turn the key to ign...still no ecu power. black-white is still getting 0v.
what could cause this? what should i check?
other things ive done: tested fuses, tested alternator, tested relays, and still no dice.
help plz.
