So, for the past month or so my KA24DE has misfired a little bit, but not to often. Now today it will not stop misfiring, and now the service engine soon light is on. I changed all my spark plugs with new ones but that did not help at all. It is a 1998 KA24DE with 85,XXX miles on it. Anyone got any ideas?

K i will check them. I think it probably could use a new timing chain, but would that really make it misfire?

if the chain jumpedd teeth but i highly doubt it did that. like i said check timing. get a timing gun negative to negative positive to positive on the battery, turn the gun to 0 degrees. then shine the light and look for the little pin, i believe it should be 20 degrees tdc. there is a writeup somewhere if ur not sure how. good luck

plug wires, plug gap, distributor cap, distributor, compression, injector, intake leak. Any one of these things can cause a missfire on at least 1 cylinder.
