1997 Black Nissan 240SX SE

Price!!!! $14,000! OBO

This is a genuine (not a body conversion) 97 240SX, manual transmission from the factory. Motor is from a 97 180SX, SR20DET blacktop. The car is my daily driver, and I can get about 25mpg on the 14psi setting.

Maintenance is a breeze, oil changes every 2500 miles exclusively with Mobile 1. I just got a new job in the Houston area, and the car is reliable to the point that I can drive the car regularly to Dallas to visit the girlfriend (around 500 miles round trip).

On to the reason why you're looking at this beast:

The car was maintained/built by GS Motorsports of Irving, TX. I also brought it to Autoscope in Dallas for the little things like oil changes.

Few minor things worth noting: The car is 11 years old, so it should be said that it has the paint chips and scratches to go with the age. No sun spots or crackle. Finally, there is a small dent in the rear driver side wheel well. This was done by the previous, previous owner. I have pictures if you want me to email them to you.

163,000 miles on the chassis, 60,000 on the motor. SR20det swap (blacktop motor with redtop valve cover). 3 boost settings, 12, 14, and 19psi. I bought the car with a majority of the mods done already. The car was built from the ground up as a daily driver and the setup says so. I never dragged or tracked it. I personally know the previous owner and he took exceptionally good care of the car before I owned it. Estimate around 330hp to 350hp

Here are the modifications:
Walboro 255lph Fuel Pump
Nismo Motor Mounts (2 engine mounts, tranny mount)

To build this car from scratch, you'd spend around $25,000 easily. The reason I'm selling is Im looking to get an '05-08 STI. Shes a wonderful car, and I know I'm going to miss her as soon as shes sold. I'd prefer to sell the car to another die hard enthusiast who can take just as good care if not better than I have. The car is available for viewing during weekends. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. Thanks!

not to bash but it looks like a stock kouki with a stock s13 motor with a 2871. i dont know how it adds up to 25grand cuz it doesnt even have coilovers and a proper fitting wheel setup. i say 8-9 grand???

^^ i agree. maybe a lil more since its a kouki. but 10k max

Maybe it includes the cost of the car, parts, and labor involved. Labor could have been 5k or more if you didn't do any work yourself. Either way 14k is a very good price. Consider i sold a 1998 for $9500. Maybe some of you remember that. But forum aren't the best place to get the most of what you sell. Autotrader is. To many cheap people on the forums

^^ i agree. maybe a lil more since its a kouki. but 10k max

And these dude right here is a great example of what i mean cheap people on the forums. Lowballers

Im the seller of the car, so all questions can be directed to me. Thanks!

As mentioned about the 25k is an estimate, and yes, it includes the price one would pay for a genuine Kouki, manual transmission from the factory. I should have mentioned that above.

To let everyone know, Im also accepting OBO, so Im flexible on the price. There are several S14 SR20 blacktops for sale on this thread with similar builds for same money.

LOL, if you're going to try to sell your car on a forum full of 240 enthusiasts and that know the market, you have to come legit with the asking price; otherwise head over to Ebay Motors or Craigslist where comments aren't allowed son.

How many times are people going to post about his price?

If you don't like his price, then go troll somewhere else.
If his price is too high, then the market will dictate if it gets sold or not.

LOL, if you're going to try to sell your car on a forum full of 240 enthusiasts and that think they know the market, you have to come cater to cheap kids with the asking price

fixed.

Most 240 owners are delusional when it comes to getting work done. Some mexican chop shop who did your SR swap for $200 isn't going to compare to taking it to a reputable, knowledgeable shop to get the work done correctly for $1200. If his car is indeed a textbook swap, then its completely justifiable. Then figure in a tuned PFC (dyno time is expensive :P), and a partially rebuilt motor (seals replaced, RAS's and headstuds). About the only thing I find objectionable is using a S13 motor in a S14, and also using injectors that large for such small HP output, but that's personal preference, not a sign of quality of work on the owner's part.

But if you really want, lets get him a set of balling Megan coilovers and some sportmax wheels, then he can charge 20k for the car, right?

They guy is asking 14k, which is NEGO!. If you don't like the price send him a PM with a offer you think is fair and work from there. Personally I think this car is a great price considering that it can get 8k at least stock.

i sold my 95 ka-t for $15k it was fully built with a standalone making 800hp but it cost to build cars guys and i think i gave my car away for that price and he has to do more cause he has to purchase the motor and put it in the car and do wiring and all that stuff cost......

Yes, Im totally negotiable on the price. I'm more than willing to work something out with someone who is serious. I'm an upfront guy and I honestly have nothing to hide about the car. I just drove in from Louisiana to visit family 400 mile round trip, AC going, at 14psi.

Im the third owner of the car since the swap. The previous owner was going to put cams and an exhaust manifold for more power, but kept it where it is so it would be a stable daily driver. He later got a G35 coupe w/ twin turbo and didnt need the 240 anymore. I can look into getting the papers on the swap, but Im not sure he kept in touch with the original owner.

It needs to have the idle raised, as the AC in stop and go traffic can make it stall sometimes. Other than that, the car is solid.

I know the original owner of the car that did the swap, he lives down street from me here in oklahoma and i can vouch for the car.....David was very meticulous when it came to taking care of his car, and took great care of it. Whoever buys this is getting an awesome car.

You get a total of two bumps. Please read our rules.

If you haven't figured out by now, you may want to reevaluate your price if you wish to try and sell it on here in the future.

OR, honestly, spend a grand, get some Stance, and another grand and get some decent wheels, and this car will probably sell closer to your asking price. Swap looks very well done, but the rest of the car is lacking for $14k or even $11. Just some constructive criticism.
