To summarize, the guy sold his G4 on ebay, was contacted privately to arrange an outside sale. Buyer wanted to use a fake escrow site, and the seller caught on to it. He ended up getting a binder with fake keys on it and alot of sharpy drawings and sending it out via FedEx. He declared the value of the laptop at 2k, and the seller was charged $550 for customs tax. Buyer got pissed and sent a virus. The end.

I bet the buyer killed him or something since he left his picture up on the net and used his real email and other names he used on the net. Easy google can get him in trouble.

most likely because he was scared that that guy or UPS would track him back.. even though he didnt recieve any money he could still get into a substantial amount of fraud trouble. GREAT story though.

Scammer contacted guy on ebay with a fake escrow site, asking if they can handle it through that. The seller ^ knew this, so instead of sending him a mac powerbook. He got a binder and put old keys and markered stuff all over it. The scammer paid customs 550.00 dollars to receive the package. Pretty funny, but the seller has too much time on his hands.
