So you guys wanted it and we got them. We will be having 2 road course events this season.

The dates are July 12th and August 16th. These events are open to A and B group drivers. The cost is $100/driver. They're both Saturdays, so I don't want to hear any crap about not having sweet weekend events because this should make up for it.

The rest of the details will be finalized on Friday when Matt and I meet with the E-town guys to iron everything out. But we are on the schedule as of yesterday.

So the 12th is coming up soon, we need you guys spreading the word and telling everyone. This will be both a great spectator event and a great driver event, so we want everyone out there. There will be lots of driving and lots of people and it should be a good time for everyone. Bring your friends and families with you, bring everyone you know.

So all the A and B group guys, get your cars together, get everything set up right, get enough tires for the day and get out there. E-town is hooking us up on this event, so that means we need everyone out there to show them that we can pull the drivers and spectators needed to have more fun weekend events. If more drivers and spectators come to these events, we will have a much easier time getting more road course events and more fun weekend events in general. So tell everyone you know and make them come with you.

I don't want to hear any excuses about not knowing about this or not having a car ready. Just get anything together so you can drive.

I'll get a sweet flyer up soon and post it up here. Just start telling other people and posting on other forums and spread the word. The rest of the details will be posted here this weekend.

But just to sum it up:
Road Course Events
July 12th and August 16th
$100/driver, A and B group Drivers ONLY.

These will be day events, I just do not have the official starting and ending times yet. Probably something like 12-8 or something similar to that, maybe start a little earlier, end a little earlier, it will all be figured out on Friday and you guys will be the first to know.

how do you become an A or B driver

After talking to a lot of C class drivers and a few B class drivers, I've been told there is no actual set guideline. It's really that you have to prove you're consistent because anyone can get a great run or two but the guy who puts down five or 6 balls out amazing runs has talent. Also they told me that you can't spin, at all.... (I think they basically mean that you can't spin so much that it's noticeable) Also you have to prove that you won't be a risk on the more technical courses, like if you're the C course- if you spin out it's not a big deal cuz you just take out the cones, but on the road course if you spin you're digging into the dirt and may damage the courses surroundings and your own car and then if you're running in tandem with another car then if you spin or under steer or miscalculate you're risking another person's life and car too.

So yeah, my best advice which I've heard from quite a few different people is, Go out and have fun and learn-alot. Just practice and practice until you think you're good, and then if you're not in B or A by that point you go out and try to make an impression to get into B.

Here's the track layout for this weekend. The course is going to be awesome, lots of elevation change and some good entry speeds. So bring lots of tires. There will be a tire machine at the track.

We will only be running tech until 1, so if you will be coming to the track later than that, please let us know by email us at [email protected] so we know. If not, you will still be able to drive, but getting the car teched and on the track might end up taking more time than if you had just let us know in the beginning.

As for getting into Group A/B. Like any drifting judging, it's subjective. Our criteria is that you're consistent and can get through the course quickly without spinning. Basically, after you've gotten past the first learning stages of drifting. When you're starting to push your car and your driving a little further. So good entries are important, consistency is important, speed through the course is important. You don't have to be an amazing driver, but you have to be a decent driver.

And like the fro said, best way to do it is to come to events, talk to us, ask for an instructor, just keep driving and figuring out your car and figure out what your problems are. Come talk to us, we'll tell you what you need to do to get into group B, we can probably even help you with getting your car figured out or working out any problems. There's a lot of people that show up with cars that are set up like crap and that's actually the thing holding them back, but without someone else who knows what the car should feel like driving the thing, it's hard for us to know that. So I'm sure there have been a couple people that feel like their stuck in group C, but it's really because there's something wrong with their car and not with their driving.

And watching the more advanced guys is also a great way to learn. So coming to events like this and other advanced nights is a great way to see what you should do and how you should drive. It also helps to talk to them about car setup and what they have done. Everyone loves talking about drifting and cars so just ask people and you'll find out a lot.

ahhhhh.....you lucky S.O.Bs

That track was probably the most funnest track driven. It gave me a flash back of Bihoku Circuit a bit when i was there for Nopi.

But have fun and rip them tires up!

Raffi, crash at my place the full week. Lots of booze, drifty, and shenanigans. Just make sure Ryan brings his balls. I don't want to embarrass him in front of my mom again.
