So I have a power steering leak of epic proportions from one of the lines. I have located it and am waiting on some new lines to come in.

The question right now is whether or not it is bad for the ps system to run and drive the car without/ with low fluid. The pump is making an obnoxious whining noise that is direct with the rpms and gets louder when I turn (duh). I'm just worried I'll burn out the pump or something?

u usin tranny fluid as your p/s fluid? if not put it inits thicker and wont leak as much dependin how big the leak is. you can also tryin puttin in tranny stop leak/slip. we put it in my friends p/s that was leakin abit and it fixed the problem

hope this helps...g/l

Take the belt off until you get the new lines.
