like josh said, harbor frieght has a low racing jack.

i know for sure that napa has a model as well and its about the same if not a little lower and longer than the harbor freight one.

i personally use the harbor freight jack and i havent had any issues using it on multiple lowered cars at the track

i have the craftsman 2 ton aluminum jack, and my friend has the harbor freight, I have to say that you get what you pay for, mine is a much better linear rate when lowering it, the harbor freight one seemed to jump when you just touched it to lower it. the Craftsman one is about $200.

Jeeezz....I have the Craftsman one as well, doesn't work so well on a bodykit. Phone books, etc. Not to mention that it weighs a crapload and I have to carry it down from my apt. when I use it. So the slimline slides right under there?sweet, been looking for one.

For the guys talking about the harbor freight one. Do you know whats the maximum load on them? 1.5ton? 2ton?

I had a friend who mentioned something about jacking up his mr2 at the track and the jack wasn't able to hold all the weight and basically blew up, spilling oil all over the place.

I'd suggest swinging for the red and brushed one though. More capacity, longer as well for reaching more jack points.

That's a really nice one if you're low, but still some of us have to drive on ramps or remove the bumper just to use it. I carry my ramps in the car anyway so I can get by with using most floorjacks without needing a super low profile one.

i got mine from autozone it is the same thing as a harbor freight one but it says duralast and it works good

friend had the crafstman aluminum racing jack that they offer and he complained about it so much. he went through 2 of them and the third would make the strangest noises when jacking up the car. I swear that shit felt like it was about to give at any given second. Plus the warranty is bullshit. It's only a year on lift equipment and that's usually around the time they start to give out.

I'll probably be picking up a HF one for under $100 or the AutoZone Duralast one for under $100. Undecided if I want the LED jack or not.

As much as i always hesitate to buy any tool with a LED on it, i'm always glad after i do. Those stupid little lights come in handy all the time.

On drills, saws, keychains...anything.

I love my LED Glasses that I got from azndoc. Sometimes they're the only light I have while I work on my car at night. They're definitely worth their weight in gold imo.

I might try out that LED jack after all then. If I don't like it I'll just return it and get a normal one.

slim line ? you mean low pro right.

Well I just picked this up from harborfreight today. - Harbor Freight Tools - Quality Tools at the Lowest Prices (http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=67022) Very nice!
As you can see on the website 2 3/4 min height, 75lbs. Also just used it today the release is very smooth, easy to let down slow, easy to control, solid ass jack. I actually was in time for the 15 percent off got it for around 83.

You dont need aluminum if you just gonna use it in the garage.

can anyone recommend a good slim line aluminum floor jack?

i got mine from harbor freight - i bought the double pump one that is more beefy, but has the lowest saddle height. i think it was $220 or something. i just made sure to buy the 3 year in store replacement warranty for it for an extra $20 i think it was. that was about a year ago, and i havent needed a new one yet.

3.25" off the ground for the mothafuckin win, you bitches!

i also have a costco alum jack that ive had/used for near 7 years now, still works like a charm.. but i use that for light duty work. the new iron low-pro jack does my daily routines...

even though its very low, i still cannot lift the beast of an SC300 without slightly lifting the car an inch or so.. reason being the rear hump of the jack is high and the cross member is really far back on the SC. on the miata though, it works fine since it has a short overhang.

I recommend people have a few pieces of wood around to help raise the car before jacking. not that low-pro jacks are bad by any means, but its still not ideal.. theres always something that interferes. luckily having 2 jacks makes life much easier than having one. i can easily throw one on the frame rail just to raise half the car a tiny bit if needed.

biggest problem if any with this jack is that it drops the car too quickly. if you're looking for perfection, might want to look for something even more expensive. this bitch was near 300 or so.

^^ damn thats a nice jack. 300 is a lot but it seems worth it since not only is it low but its long as well.

Kind of expensive, heavy and still not quite low enough to get under my car. However its incredibly stable, very smooth controls and raises to the moon (thats what she said).

but yeah this is even better

3 inch from the floor at the lowest point of the saddle

You guys fall all over those Harbor Freight jacks, let us know next year when the piston fails how much you still like it.

The recent ones on this page and the Omega jack are way more expensive, but they're also a LOT longer reach (perfect to hit the crossmember), better quality, and built to last. I love seeing people complain about prices, cheap out, then get stuck with shitty useless tools.

my ranger doesnt go all the way to the crossmember on the sc300, but its got a big jewish nose of a front-end. not sure about the S13 since its still on all fours hovering in the air.

overall, having a longer jack is useful.. much like having a longer dick. too bad 300 dollars doesnt give me an 6 inches, i'de spend those 3 bills with a fuckin quickness
