should be ok for now. run it at idle and watch it. then after you drive it the first time, recheck it again. and then every week after that! it will leak eventually!

Its not ideal, but keep an eye on it. My guess is that its probably going to be fine.

alright. i know this isnt likely, but did this happen to anyone else? lol. im just hoping theres no negative effect cause i mean, that 10mm bolt applying that small amount of pressure cant play THAT big a role right? or thats just what i've been hoping and telling myself haha :eek3d:

it helps keep even pressure across the head/block connection. You'll probably be fine, though

L-series engines (old Datsuns) have similar bolts up front. That part of the head gasket is just an oil seal- it's not under combustion pressure. If you have the head off again, just run a little extra RTV along the front edge, and you should be just fine.
No warranty expressed or implied, though!! Good luck.

over torque.

that bolts holds the pressure for the gasket and it seals the oil from the cover. most likely time will tell when you will have a fat leak from there.

i had one do the same thing. just RTV that edge and it will be fine.

I think it will be fine. And dont use RTV to cover it... that shit sucks.

Use hondabond!!(or equivalent) I recently found out about this shit and will never use RTV again.

I seriously doubt it will do anything, but it cant hurt.
