I'm eventually going to buy the JDM front end conversion for my 90 S13. Just wondering why I see alot more people opting for the non-projector headlights versus the dual and triple projection headlights, any reason for that? The only thing that I could figure is that they might be bright as heck and blind all on coming traffic. Or are they just more of a PITA to wire-up?

None of them provide proper lighting.

The non-projector headlights just look better.

Triple Projectors make the S13 look like a Spider.
Dual Projectors, a spider with down syndrome.

like i said no one want to get out of your car and someone say hey i like your teg... hahaha just kidding its just looks alike
im not a fan of sil80 but if by any reason i do it someday or make one it will be bricks they look more in tune with the cars aesthetic(or however you write it...)...

oh and yeah none of them really give a proper lighting they are made for rhd cars... the lights would be instead of the driver side shinning a bit lower than the passenger it would be the other way around and ive read that no matter how much you adjust them they still sort of shine that way (i havent had experience myself ive just seen it in person on silvia headlight on a s13 where i live and the details i said i read about it on a thread around here)... and the pattern they give from the start isnt that well compared to others cars isnt that good...

I also take it that the bulbs are probably alot harder to find over hear for the dual and triple projectors than the brick headlights?

No, they are standard bulbs. The only thing that can be difficult is the H3c bulbs, and there are how-to walkthroughs on the internet for converting a standard H3 bulb to work.

I managed to get some good H7 projectors retrofitted into a tri-projector headlight housing, which solves the problem of sucky lighting. They work great.

That said, if there were a simple solution to making the brick headlights work with a nice, bright, proper beam pattern, I'd do it in a second. They really do look better.

I agree w/ the flip-ups. Only reason why I converted to silvia front was because my flipups didn't work and the hood hit the covers everytime it opened or closed.

Lol sounds like someone just wanted the conversion.

Bricks are cooler as has been stated...but, they were originally to base model set. The projectors were the ones they paid more to have as an option.

Hell yea. Didn't have to deal with turning headlights up and down anymore by hand. Now i just flip a switch. woohoo

Dang those look Goood! I would keep the pop-ups if they had a good upgraded projector system or hid not sure. Any one got a picture with all three or four styled light systems on cars(all in one picture)? If I go with the JDM front end i'll probably get it from pandagarage.com They seemed to have really good kits.

Ummm, yaa.......riiiiight! I would TOTALLY take the stock pop-ups over the re-amemiya lights! Psssssssthhhhh! Amemiya FTW! POP-ups just look funny when they are up, even on the FD's.

The only reason i didnt go with the bricks was because of the lighting. If you retro-fit HID's in them, you're blinding everyone and honestly the scattering of light wouldnt benefit the driver. I got the Dual's because it has the yellow brick lights and dual projectors that imo look more up-to-date. I modified my duals so the cutoff is now sharp and US traffic friendly. You just cant do it with the bricks. But for a photo shoot, they are nice.
