Should First gear do this?

Today I accidently noticed that I can move from first gear w/o using the clutch...is that normal?<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'>

This is the case with any manual transmission. &nbsp;At certain RPMs (depends on engine/transmission) you can shift out of or into gear w/o the clutch. &nbsp;Im fact it is possible not to use the clutch at all except to get into first gear (although probably not a good idea)

yea you can pull ur shifter into Neutral without using the clutch. but it is not reccomended. i had a friend who use to do this to his old car, and its now messed up. use the clutch, thats y its there

alright thanks....I fully intend on using the &nbsp;clutch i just wanted to make sure this was normal
