I'm not sure if it is another wow, diablo isn't really that deep, unless they make it difficult to level and get uniques/rares/sets. hopefully they make it harder to level and etc. The boss battles look very bad ass though, should be fun with a group of friends! My day will probably be: wake up, dc3, sc2, eat, dc3, sc2, eat, dc3, sc2, sleep and repeat. I predict a lot of people failing school when this comes out haha.

I hope there's a PvP mode, like the first Diablo was, where you can just attack anyone at any time without warning, then you really have to trust in the good of people, and stick together with others. Or lead them out in the middle of nowhere to kill everyone and take their gold. :keke:

I use to rule that game, I loved going into games were some dude thinks he can punk your lower lvl char. with his badass one, and you just come back in and rape him with some eleit char.

I also loved making random characters for special tasks, like sorcs that duel, even though they are'nt usually for it etc.

All I did was collect gems to throw in the Cube and make perfect ones, and look for items with 6 sockets.
I had a Paladin and the only skill I put points on was Thorns or something like that, it damaged back whoever hit me, so when I was a high level some players and monsters would hit me once and drop dead.

Fuck yeah! I played one, then 2 as soon as it came out then the expansion as soon as that came out. I played a good 2-3 years. Super addicted. I failed a few classes in highschool because of that damn game. I played world of warcraft about a year ago for about 6 months straight. Played like 8-12 hours a day. I think I have an addiction problem.:hsdance: Haha. I had a lev 60 warlock, 40 hunter and a few 15s and 20s. Greatest game ever.

As for diablo 2 I had like 3 accounts and like 10 80+ characters. My highest was a 95 zon I think. I was one of those players that tried to make EVERY possible build. Spearzon, bowzon, javazon, PVP zon, trappasson, PVP necromancer, Zookeeper necromancer, bone and poison necromancer, every kind of sorc, firewall sorc, hydra sorc, frozen orb sorc, a damned chained lightning sorc, meteor sorc, etc and about 5 variants for every other remaining characters.:eek:

yep, as a business they're also making bank on WoW. something like 5 million subscribers and growing. you figure each person pays around $12-13/month in the US. overhead really can't be that bad, as far as I know it's not a huge company. don't know if it's cheaper or more expensive in other countries. that doesn't even take into account the sale of the actual game itself. they must be rich beyond measure.

financially, i'd wager Blizzard to be one of the most financially successful companies b/c of WoW.

Cool stuff, but Blizzard's games are notorious for taking forever to come out.
I don't even bother anticipating their release anymore.
I'll think about it, when & if it actually comes out.

'Starcraft 2' just came out with a 'tentative' release date of Q2 2010.
'Diablo 3' doesn't even have a release date, or at least not that I know of.
Both games were introduced approximately 2 yrs ago!

If I had to guess, I will say Starcraft 2 gets released in the holiday season of '10.
Diablo for summer of '11.
Grand Turismo 5, sometime in 2013 (which by the time of release, it will be terribly out-dated).

WoW's (Word of Warcraft) next expansion will probably be released a lot sooner.
I will estimate Q4 2010.
WoW is a huge source of income to Blizzard.
That alone should stand for some incentive to have released in reasonable time.

Yeah they won't. They didn't do it with WoW... I played with a bunch of people from the hardcore everquest ffa pvp server sullon zek and we tried for the longest time to get their input on it. Blizzard went SOFT years ago.

Instanced PvP is crap... but I'm still going to play it.

I also played Lineage 2 for awhile back in the day, the game was rather awful for a mmo but they had one of the best world pvp systems and it kept a huge amount of people playing the game for a long time.

Whenever there is combat, it is just lights and seizures all over the screen. I always pick the 'realistic' weapon classes. An overload of fantasy/magic/flashing lights has been the plague of mmo's lately.

Also, the classes seem to be way too niche. I am guessing they tried to differ from the 'norm,' but none of the classes really appeal to me. I think I would actually prefer the stereotypical mmo choice of knight, warrior, wizard, ranged, thief, etc.

And last, I was really hoping there would be pvp servers. Unfortunately, it seems that pvp will only be limited to arenas.

That being said, I am still going to play it.

Diablo 3 style is to be blamed on Blizzard North dissolving and Blizzard absorbing the project. Blizzard North was responsible for the dark gruesome art and more true to hack-n-slash style that WAS Diablo 2. The Warcrafty magic animation is ever present in D3 unfortunately but I guess I'll live with it if the gameplay is good.

THAT being said, I look forward to playing with you Matej. :D

I'm still going to play it either way, but I agree. It's too simplified.. well at least from what I've seen and experienced in the beta. I suppose it's a good thing for the newbies to Diablo, but all the icons and little notifications telling you where to go, etc., makes it too easy.

I played last night with a Demon Hunter. I like the class's appeal, and I do agree it is simplified. It is great for casual gamers though, which I feel I've evolved into.

The depth that D2 had was, to me, really polarizing. You were the shit or you were shat on.

I do miss the in depth skill trees. The new skill set is a bit too simple.

And I really wish they implimented some kind of peer voice chat. I hated typing during a fight.

Yeah, normal took me about 14 hours. Beat it at level 31. Me and a couple friends somewhat went through it without looking and exploring everywhere, so around 20+ hours seems right if you're taking your time and breaking every barrel and opening every chest you see.

D3 hasn't disappointed me overall besides the crappy launch day and a few other little things. Currently level 41 at Act 3 in nightmare... but gotta take a break for now since finals start tomorrow.

Not a fan of how everyone gets their own loot drops in co-op games. It was fun in Diablo and Diablo II when a monster would drop something rare and everyone would race to pick it up.

Diablo III feels like more of a single player game or an MMO that babies the player than the previous two did. Waiting to see if the PvP will change that.

It depends on what kind of Monk you're playing. My multiplayer Monk is setup as a tank/secondary tank so he uses cyclone strike a lot. He gets hit a ton, so having a shield works better.

Anyways I read more about this exploit and it seems OK to play solo or with friends right now. Just don't join pubs for any reason.

Yea, more so because I gave up my two handed weapon 158dps for a single handed 257dps and didnt have enough to get another similar single handed one. Plus it does the same amount of damage while duel wielding so it wasnt a huge concern. In theory you do less DPS because you dont get that extra attack in there, but the added armor and blocking makes up for it. I can kill Diablo on nightmare in 2-3 minutes myself no problem, although he really isnt that hard.
