View Full Version : Decent Wheels

Now I'm fairly new to Zilvia although I've been on the UK Nissan/Drift scene for a few years and one thing I've noticed immediatedly on here is the sheer quantity of decent brand/size/fitment wheels that come up for sale on here and the prices [considering £1.00 = $2.00 pretty much]!
On UK forums/UK Ebay you VERY rarely see anything over a 9J for sale and the offsets are always like ET+25 and over :( . Whats more, its so rare to see decent wheels for sale that when they do pop up you have to be super quick to catch them as they are snapped up within minutes. Whats worse is that you have second hand PAIRS of Work Equips [for example] with plenty of kerb rash and laquer peeling going for £500-ish [$1000!!].
That shit sucks so just thought the US guys should know how damn lucky they are! :bigok:

Don't forget that we can also get gas for half of what you pay :keke:
I don't feel lucky..heh
I'm sure you can find some decent size and offset wheels over their
couldn't you just order from Japan?

Ordering from Japan is a possibility, you end up getting the wheels fairly cheap but then get hit big time on shipping and import duty [10%] AND VAT [17.5%].

WE GOT STUCK WITH A FUCKING KA UNDER OUR HOODS
i often wonder if people abroad know our cars didn't come with SR's. ugh.
and that's just the 240. we got screwed out of shitloads of awesome cars over here.
even our domestic companies release the cool cars to you, and not us.
do you know what an escort looks like over here? :loco:

You can't complain about the KA when theres turbo kits available to you for the price of a tank of fuel over here :D
Plus a KA-T sounds 10000000x more awesome than an SR anyday. Nissan somehow managed to capture the most boring engine sound ever with the SR. Don't get me started on the fact that most of our S13s have CAs!
We get some cool cars, but they all look fucking pony because we have to run gay ass wheels on them. Shit cars with awesome wheels is where it at.
Our escort. Wheres the sexy?

All the cool cars? You've just named ALL the cool cars Ford have made [except the GT40 but thats ridiculous].
Besides the Escort Cossies are all owned by 'enthusiasts' now who keep them in airtight bags in their garage and drive them like once a year to the annual Owners club meet.
Off topic anyone? :tweak:

Focus - Shite. Driven by complete morons in burberry baseball caps who think 'ST' means ANYTHING other than Sexually Transmitted.
Skoda - VRS is OK, but diesel. And a Skoda. And booooring.
Cosworths - see above.
Super 7s - whatever, I'm not grey enough to drive one of them yet. And never plan to be.

Ha ha screw all of you - try living in South Africa where import duty is 20% and VAT is 14% and 1 $US = 8 Rands. 1 Pound = 15 Rands.
And were in the same boat as you poms when it comes to models and wheels. Being RHD we get most EURO spec cars here. But usually with a slightly lower "spec".
Performance models - if we get it it's the detuned versions due to poor fuel quality. (Max = 95 RON, not PON even)
Oh and importing a second hand car is illegal. On a new car import duties are 100%. FU GOVT!!

And send us some women with the sexy accents- not like Tracy Ullman, more like Keira Knightley!! Just the accent can turn a "7" into a "9-1/2"!!
LOL- this thread has been a fun read... the grass always seems greener on the other side, huh? I guess the only solution is to be wealthy enough to own houses on both sides of the Atlantic... and one in Japan while you're at it- those guys get ALL of the cool cars!!

It's funny how that statement holds true: " grass is always greener on the other side" Seems like everyone wants what they can't have.

Oye, i used to live in Guildford, England. let me also bear reminders you can have a car imported there no problem. S15, skylines, Evo's VI (my fav), Euro Accord R, Civic Type R etc. every place has its pros and cons. i for one miss the fantastic public transit system. the trains were usually all i needed there. as far as wheels go, see what Grant can do for you. cheers.
