My knock sensor on the safc2 is reading 7 to 8 knock at normal throttle and peaks at 9 counts at wide open. I don't think this is normal, but I am not very knowledgeable on this subject. Someone please help me out with some info. The motor seems pretty straight forward and has a built head with 272 cams. Thanks guys I appreciate the help.

That aint much to be honest with you. SAFC uses the stock knock sensor to get its numbers. Small negligible numbers like that more than likely are only engine noise...

I'll put it to you this way if you do your knock calibration on cold day, your gonna see a shit load of knock numbers on a hot day. So do you knock calibration on the hottest day possibly after driving the car hard (perferable do it at a red light).
What this does is weeds out the false knock at idle and low engine loads since you basically cannot get knock at idle and low low engine loads.
