What does the "D" in the chassis code stand for on my owner's manual?

The D probably just means it's book D or maybe D is the US/Canada market or something.

A friend thought it might mean "domestic"

that's not a chassis code. it probably denotes what market/type of car (se/le/base etc) the book is for.

It doesn't have to do with trim level because the book talks about the coupe and the fastback. It also has both versions of the dash (HUD with Digital readout AND standard analog reading without HUD) in addition to talking about Super HICAS which my car doesn't have.
This is the original book that came with the car.

Yeah.. www.freshalloy.com came up with the assumption that it just has to do with the manual. Thanks for your replies.
