i cant say anything about that model, but if its coming from alpine even the cheap ones are decent, ive had alot of alpines (higher end models) and have had no complaints, i currently have the cda 7995, i really like it, i think i seen them on ebay for like 350 plus shipping, its a sound investment, and u get to listen to mp3s and you can use cdrws....thats all the help i can give u, clarions higher end stuff is also good, cant speak for any other companys...

I have the CDA-7893, (courtesy of my insurance company since some individual decided that they needed my wheels and stereo system a little more than I did) in my opinion it does well has all the options I needed, plenty of power on its own although I dont use the headunit's power...not too much difference between my 7893 and the 7892 that you are looking at, mostly the color (black) which I somewhat like better since it matches interiors more easily and not sure if the 7892 has changer controller capablilities, my advice.. if you can get it at a good deal buy it.
