Wierd Shift

Whenever I shift gears, it's slightly rough but certainly not really smooth. I mostly feel it when shifting at low rmps, but at high rpms, I don't really feel it much. My clutch is good and my clutch flood is full. &nbsp;Can someone help me out to try to figure what's the problem? My friend says it could be my syncros....does anyone else think so? It can't be my driving because everyone that drives my car says that they feel it. when was the last time you changed your tranny fluid?

since I bought my car......... never.... You think I should try to change it first then see if it changes? That sounds like a good idea. What's some good tranny fluid?

werd, good place to start elmiating problems
get some REDLINE MT90 for your manual tranny. if ou dont know of any shops in your town, go online tyhpe that in google and you'll get tons of retailers. but 4 quarts (only takes 3 but 4 to be safe)

also go out to an autostore and get a pump because you shoudl have one anyways to put it in (use it when you change your diff oil too)

basically, make sure you have a 1/2 breaker bar, and something to extend it as well. jack up car, put out jackstands, crawl under car, TAKE OFF THE FILL HOLE FIRST!! then once that's off, drain it. reinstall drain plug, use pump and pump in the MT90. snug everything down and test it out.

it wont feel PERFECT till after it gets all lubed up in there, but in a day or so, it will be so much nicer. maybe a 1-2 hour job if its your first time at MOST. shouldnt take more then1 hour by the time you jack it up and get going. taking the fill and drain plugs are the hardest part, gotta have the breaker bar!

I back up what Dousan said. The only mention is that i drove a couple s13s and s14s and Z31 and it seems like all have the same rough (manual) transmission. I quit worrying about it when I saw it happen not only in my car (S13) but also in all the other Nissans I've ever driven. In any case, changing the transmission fluid helped A LOT, and I didn't even put Redline in it, just the regular transmission fluid from Pepboys (I forgot the name).

Buy the hand pump, don't figure that you might go around it, cause you cann't (at least not easily). Under the car is pretty tight as it is, you don't need additional hurdles.

Better idea.... Drain your fluid.. plud the hole back up.. and fill it from the shifter.. just pop that sucker out. Just need one of those O ring thing pullers (I duna the name of it). And while your at it drop on you new B&M:SS <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'> well thats what I would do.. &nbsp; I got REDLINE in mine.. and it is ALOT better. 2nd is still sticky.. But I am hard on it so its not a surprise.

but yep, follow everything dousan said. &nbsp;mt90 should help a lot.
