Yeah good luck with that.....lol. Drive down the road and turn your key back one click and tell me how much fun it is to slow down.

Yeah highly doubtful, shits hard as hell.

You could also pull off the vacuum line from the booster and drive it around the block see how it is

Why do you ask?

There are brake set-ups that work without the booster people!

I dont know alot about it, but I know some race cars do it, and they use a softer brake fluid.

hmm okay,

I was wondering because.. i wana create a brace from strut tower to firewall and well the booster is in place... so i was just wondering if i eliminated the booster it would make things alot tidier and easier to work on... accommodating the brace I had in mind...

I guess I'll have to think of something else then...

What's the advantages of running a non-boosted brake system?

My booster failed once on 300zx brakes. I had to stomp on it with 2 feet to get it barely stopped for a light.... Nearly impossible to have good braking distance...

You would have to re-do the pedals, if you ran a floor mounted tilton system, it would be unassisted, but the MC's are different, and the geometry of the pedals are different.

It's doable, but it would mean a lot more that just removing the booster.

Why would you wanna do that..? Isnt that just taking steps back on technology..? Its there to make braking easier.

That's retarded. Why compromise your brakes so you can have "bracing"

McRusselPants had some sort of brace jiggy-doo thing.

^Yea its like SOOOOOOO retarded, when the booster, mbc and clutch master are right there behind the strut tower.

Yeah I figured... damn.. well I'll see what I can do... def not doing it without the brace... the brace will happen haha.. basically a bar connecting strut towers to firewall to reduce flex in that region... i'd post pics but there are some ppl who did it on here before.. not sure what they did for the mbc and clutch master relocation though... i forget who it was...

Just thought i'd ask as the booster is relatively large...

A ferrari f40 apparently has no booster, power steering, abs are you guys going to say its a piece of shit too. Of course its different, but cmon, I hate it when instead of an answer its a barrage of bullshit. (not directed at you trainee, thanks for an actual response)

Yes but your f40 braking system was also designed to work WITHOUT a booster. It also had a manual steering rack that was designed to work without power steering in the first place.

Anyway my point was that you don't need to kill the booster.

That is the dumbest fucking thing I have ever read on this site. ever. that includes people clamouring for *snip, enough of this shit, you got a problem with me, come to me*.

I'd run my brakes without a booster except it would be scary waiting for the pads to come up to temp. after that it would be fine though

my brace wasn't really for brake booster stability.

you can buy braces for that for like 40$ on ebay though, or make one for 10$ and still run a booster.

Horrible point. A purpose built track for the street costing twice as much as any house you could ever buy designed by a company who's been racing cars for over 60 years, and a piss ass 240SX fitted with all the modern luxuries any car could need. Not even close.

Manual brakes are not a downgrade if the car can be adapted to work that way, or in your point is built that way. But it is a downgrade to just remove the booster because you feel it's in the way and hope you can stop when needed. There's plenty of ways to brace the towers without removing the booster, there's plenty of room to work around any brace you might make, and there's no reason to remove the booster and modify the pedal assemblies just to be able to fit a brace. That's going way beyond the scope of your idea.

I didn't have power brakes on my evo for a while cause the brake booster went out. It wasn't that bad at all... It just seems hard at first but u get use to it after a week..
