I just recently installed 10mm spacers on my 240sx, i was able to tighten it almost 6 turns, is this enough and safe to drive?

It is recommended that you don't go over 6mm without extended studs.

The rule of thumb is at least 3 to 4 full turns.

yes.

your totally fine.

i wouldnt drift or anything on them, daily driving you should be ok

lol

all that wheel spinning might spin the lug nuts loose

10mm spacers on stock studs?
i would agree with Matej don't go bigger than 6mm with stock studs
if you do get some longer studs

I'm running 10 mil spacers on the rear w/ stock studs. I've been fine. i check my lugs every once in awhile and there always tight. Def don't go bigger than 10 though.

you can get away with 10mm slip-ons. Just make sure every thing is properly torqued and check them often.

Anything bigger than 10mm, just get bolt-ons. So much nicer.

Now is about the time for some "I'm a hardcore drifter" member to chime and complain we're all being to safety minded. He can probably run 35mm slip ons with half a turn of thread and be super-hardcore-eating-babies-while-at-full lock-with-sparks-shooting-from-the-tires-and-flames-from-the-exhaust-with-a-15-inch-penis-hanging-out-the-window.

Or something like that. :keke:

motegineon

or maybe the hard driving/pressure combined with added heat could cause them to be more unsafe

different wheels have different thickness centers, so a 10mm might work ok for some wheels but not others.

ya thats true as well, had a friend with diamond racings. center was like 5mil max. i guess you can do that with steel wheels.

see you guys are being odd about this as well

saying you can run a 10mm spacer on all wheels is a misconception

ive had MANY different wheels that are thicker or thinner where the lug goes through thus increasing or decreasing the amount of thread avaliable for the lug.

rule of thumbg for ME is if the stud is not at least FLUSH with the top of the nut, i wont do it. i prefer a thread or two above the nut

Yeah well...

DRIFTING IS STUPID.

WHY NOT JUST GET WHEELS THAT ARE CUSTOM OFFSET AND HAVE PERFECT FITMENT THEN DO TIME ATTACKS AND ROAD RACING AND AUTOX BUT NO DRIFTING.

AND MAKE SURE YOU DON'T STRETCH THOSE TIRES.

(but seriously listen to what yokota and techtrix said.)

iirc so long as you can get 4 full rotations the nut has full strength.

im running 6.5mm spacers with my ichiba 5 lug swap and iirc i have like 7 rotations and with no spacers its like 12.

drifted o nthem lots and no problem.

Speaking of slip-on spacers and extended studs, can anyone tell me how long the stock studs are? (S13 if that matters.)
I want to buy studs 20mm longer than the stock ones, and I'm not sure what length to get.

Just install some 60mm studs so when the inevitable 240-wheel-experimentation-phase of ownership kicks in you'll be set.

i wish i could sig this but if your really worried about your lugs do what has been mention before either get bolt ons or go with longer studs or as my father would like to say buy rims for YOUR car with the right offset

Holy fuck, someone with a brain. I can't believe so many people are saying 10mm is fine. Usually the max that i would say is "fine" is 5mm just because most 240 owners are fucking idiots.

Count the number of FULL TURNS of the lug nut. I wouldn't run anything less than 5 full turns. Even that is pushing. Just get extended studs or bolt on spacers unless you really have that much thread...

bolt on spacers are nice...
offset wheels are more betterer.

I drift all the time, but my penis is like my belly button, a INNIE! not a outting, 15 inches...whoa. I must need more anlge.

I don't drift.
no? you should try its fun!
your in NC too, there are alot of places to play in the area.

No

How do you find time to drift with all your constant "research" into the corruptness of our Government, anyway? Don't you have some half-assed conspiracy to expose with poor grammar and bad spelling?

Get back on the topic spacers now. Busted's comments were at least humorous, and made sense.
