hello ive tried searching around on the forums, im wanting to do a retrofit to my headlights but i was wondering how is the cutoff going to be with original 95-96 240sx housing? i really dont want to spend like 700 on headlights so getting fk lenses isnt really on my mind. if anyone has done this or can find a picture of cutoff with retrofitted stock housing 240sx would be greatly appreciated. if this doesnt work with 240sx stock lenses then i think i am just going to go halogen

If you managed to get S2K or TSX projectors, that'd be badass and you'd have great cutoff. Keep us updated!

who cares about cutoff. whats important is light dispersement.

blinding everyone else because your to cheap to get clear lenses isnt a good idea...not only is it dangerous its rude...lol...go to 240sxforums.com . search for s14 clear lenses. specer has succesfully made clear replacement lenses for the s14. much cheaper than the fk lenses. i think they are in the neighborhood of 150 dollars. you definately want clear lenses. if you dont get clear lenses the cutoff wont be very visible, the light will be all over the road and potentially dangerous to other drivers. go to the 240sxforums.com and check out that thread. also go to hidplanet.com and check out the forums there....lots of info there!
either get the clear lenses from spencer or elsewhere or dont do an hid retrofit at all!!!

Yah but how often does he get a set done? Ive heard of people waiting atleast 6 months for their lenses.
Anyways, check HIDplanet, I followed a guys write up in there and he reused the stock headlight covers with the crappy flutes. It wasnt bad, but it could be alot better with clear housings...

not sure about how long the wait is for the lenses. last i heard he attends college and im sure he doesnt have time to make them consistantly. i was attempting to make the lenses a while back. not too hard of a process. vacuum forming is the process used to produce the lenses. i just kind of lost interest in the project.specer's younger brother is also producing the clear lenses.
perhaps if enough people on zilvia are interested in a set i could make em.

do you have a picture of them shining on a wall when you had the headlights with the flutes? and were those euroglass or just stock? they dont look too bad at all! i just want to see how the beam pattern is. the clear lenses you have look amazing and i was also planing on doing a tsx retro.

scroll down about half way. youll see a preety decent hid retrofit guide. There is also a light output picture with cutoff with the stock fluted lenses. then below there is an after picture where spencers clear lenses were installed....that should give you an idea of the differences between the two lense types

thanks for the help, i think i am just going to go ahead and do the tsx projectors with fluted headlights for now, then eventually get clears.
