I currently have 3 choices for the future of my 240..right now I have an auto with 95k miles and i want to end up with a manual and a turbo somehow...I am just wondering what are your opinions, and if you are in the Chattanooga, Knoxville, or Atlanta areas maybe I could go to you for some technical help and/or installs?

1) SR20DET
2) turbo my current KA motor and swap the tranny
3) find a newer KA with 5sp and turbo it

which is most economical? anyone done the auto-5sp swap for KA OR SR? If so, how hard was it, and if you paid someone to do it, how much? how much is the average going rate for a SR swap these days, and where at? Also, what turbo kits, if going KA-T, are good, where can I find them, and where can I get help installing them?

and...whatever this turns out to be, i didnt want a KA vs SR debate

thanks...

Well, if you don't, then use a search button <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>

I don't know how many miles you got, but i'd say go with an sr.... but definately use search.

thats what i tried first...when i got no results i was puzzled. then i typed in "sr20det" and still got 0 results. i know that is wrong...there are about 10 sr20det posts per page on this forum. sorry to say...but half the posts i read on here people are telling other people to use the search and it does not work, leaving everyone hanging.

well I did the auto to 5 speed swap on my last car the 91. Its not that hard . As far as engine mileage goes your looking at mileage thats a touch high for Turboing in my opinion.
Now if you want to go KA Turbo first you need to find a low mileage engine . Hehehe I do have one for sale.
cost of SR vs KA Turbo setup is close to similar. Which basically means you have to make your choice. go out and read about KA turbo setups and see if thats what you think you want . Same goes for SR's there is a lot of info out there on the net.
www.nsport.com, www.f-max.com, those are few KA turbo kit makers.

If you turbo KA then you still have to buy a manual tranny clutch pedal assembly etc etc

If you go SR then all you need is the clutch assembly provided you buy a front clip.

when using the search function, make sure you select a forum, I would suggest tech-talk and then type in sr20 or something. &nbsp; On this site we almost always either say sr or sr20 and it means the same thing. &nbsp;we don't ever discuss the sr20de or any other sr series motor. &nbsp; Also, I find that it's pretty good just to browse the past posts. &nbsp;Subjects are usually pretty good.

If you want a manual with a turbo, the cheapest ways of doing it include:
It looks as though you don't want to do a lot of technical mechanical work on your car and you don't to do a lot of legwork sourcing wierd parts that you can use to make a custom turbo kit or auto-manual swap work. &nbsp; If I am wrong, then we can discuss those options further.
It looks like the easiest method for you to go turbo/man is to get a SR front clip and convert the whole thing over.
I think front clips are in the $2600 range at unstable-hybrids.com

not exactly , you still need the clutch lines upper and lower and the dampner. you also have to get the upper shift boot as they are sometimes tore up on clips.
If you are interested in clips I can get them prices start at $2300 for redtops. I will have some blacktops soon.

First off, I, nor any other moderators, have access to forum software, or any form of troubleshooting.
Next, if you have read the post in the Forum Suggestions, it says that the default setting for time doesn't work. &nbsp;You have to search for like 6months and newer. &nbsp;
