i have my safc hooked up to my sr20 ecu AF reads.. and throttle position reads .. the problem is that my f***in rpms wont read on the damn thing an im not getting any readings with my volt/ohm reader from the red/yellow tach signal wire.. does anyone know what my problem is and or where i can trace thins wire to so i can follw it till i get a reading? where in or around the F***in motor the rpm signal initally comes from... im beggining to get very pissed off with this shit.

"the tachometer is regulated by a signal from terminal 7 of the ECM"

dont think that will work

correct me if im wrong, but the signal wire from the ecu just distributes ground to the coilpacks

you need a lower voltage pulse signal from the coils themselves
BUT its gonna have to be before the ignitor

ehhh lemme get back to you this one....

Is your tachometer working on your dahs? So, if you tach on dash is working you should be getting a voltage off the signal pin of the ECU. What type of voltage were you trying measure? AC or DC?
ECU & Dash wiring
The colors on the wires that run from the ECU up into the dash matched up perfectly on both the SR ECU harness and the KA dash harness:
Wire Color
Use
Yellow / Red stripe -Tachometer signal

Yellow / Green stripe - Speedometer signal

Orange -Ignition start

Black (may be more than one ground) -ground

Blue / Green stripe -AC signal

Blue / Black stripe -Water temp signal

pin 7 will work if everything's ok, most likely your throttle signal resistor is popped in your ecu, no problem. you can still pull it off of either of the 180 degree cam angle sensor wires if your yellow/red still no work
