These are availible for s14's right? Does anyone have any pics of them installed or anything? The top of the rear struts are underneath the rear deck right? I dont see how these would work. thanks in advance

i think OBX makes one. its pretty thick. i haveone for my car a front one tho. it came with the car. i know somebody here has it becuz i seen a pic of it long ago. not all mods work around OEM things, i think your going to have to make the OEM work around the MOD. get wat im sayin?? the s14s rear struts are under the speaker cover. you have to take off the speaker cover and it would be under there. i guess to amke it work ud have to mod the speaker cover? im not sure i dont have one. or take off the speaker cover and leave it off.

No mods needed, unless you have one like the Nismo bar that actually goes in the rear deck...then you would need to modify some stuff. I have Cusco STB's front and rear and did not have to modify anything in the back, it was kind of interesting to install but not hard.  I can get you some pics of it if you would like, but I do not have them accesible at the moment...maybe somebody else does...

pics would really help me out. I just took off my rear deck cover and it seems that the top of the strut is a few inches below the surface where the speakers are mounted and whatnot, so i dont see how it would work <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'> thanks again

I have a Cusco front strut bar myself and felt a noticable difference in front when installed. &nbsp; As for the rear stb, can you feel a difference in the back end of the car when it was installed?

The rear STB on the S14's does not make a HUGE difference like it would in like an S13 hatch, mainly due to the rear deck connecting the towers allready in S14's, but I did notice a mild difference when I put it in.

well, I noticed a slight but significant difference when I installed my rear strut bar. Rear end stiffened up quite a bit, I thought there would be not much difference.

I have the Nismo RSTB, same as Chris (nismo270r)

Nismo and JIC both go over the rear decklid, I find that a more suitable design as i do carry a lot of cargo in the car.
I presonally think its a better design, and more convenient

cusco is however a lot more subtle and more convienient as far as installation. I just dont like how the actual bar sits in front and quite offset (not linear) from the mount.

These are the only two types avaliable for our cars.

Here are pics of mine, hope it helps.

I also had a custom made one for a while that I will post up later when i can find the pics. &nbsp;I will also find pics of the cusco.

I have a cusco OS bar on the rear of my car. It was a little confusing at first, and it is really hard to get at. basically, the "plates" (don't know what else to call them) come off. You put them down onto the top of the strut. the little corner on them will fit into a slight opening in the metal that you can see from inside the trunk. the bar then goes into the trunk, attatching to each of the plates. (its hard to explain, so i hope that helped) I can get you pics if you need them still, just ask.

yeah i got the nismo rear strut bar and mines is above the rear speaker panel jus like how it looks in grants pics...all i had to do was cut two slits on each side of the speaker panel so that the base of the strut bar protrudes above the speaker panel

i have cusco front and rear and i noticed a difference in the handling after installing them. the rear bar goes on in parts, like Archangel said, but its an easy install.

I took several pics of my stb on my car. Just for reference it is a Cusco OS rear STB on an s14.
I put all the pics in an album on Image station.
Cusco STB Photo Album (http://www.imagestation.com/album/index.html?id=4290562323&mode=&idx=0)

The captions on the pictures should help a little, but let me know if you have any more questions.

(The lighting in my garage sucks, so i had to use a flashlight for some of the pics. :p )

Thanks for the pics.

So do I have to install the STB piece by piece?

Kinda. The two plates come off, and you put them down on top of the strut towers, then you bolt the bar itself to each plate from underneath. (its kinda hard to describe)

So the whole thing is kinda like this:
