I'm in the process right now of looking for a decent size warehouse where I can put a small autoshop and body shop. It will be somewhere in the SF Valley so it will be closer to my house and rent is a little cheaper. My problem is I'm not ready to leave my job yet and my boss won't let me go either. Even offered to buy me a gas station with a shop that I can manage so I don't have to leave the company. But that's not really going to make me happy. I'm planning to put 1 lift, compressor, and some tools in the beginning so I can fix my cars there too and get some little jobs to make up the rent money. But if I can find a good all around mechanic and painter then I might just officially open the shop for business. I'm not really looking to making money right now because I have a decent job that pretty much pays for everything. If I can get the cost of operating the shop and salary for 1 mechanic and painter then I'll do it. But in the meantime, I'm thinking of maybe renting the equipment and space for my fellow DIYs out there who doesn't have a place to work on there cars for a minimal fee, just to get rent money everymonth. Let me know what you think guys. Thanks!
