Read the short story when I was a kid and wasn't real happy after, LOL.

Do the army guys hang themselves in the back of the store, like the book?

It's mist.

Seriously though, I remember cracking up when Jim flipped out ("oh no, nooooo!") and when the one guy started the fire by lighting a broom and then falling over. There was some unintentional comedy in that movie.

i dont get it why they had to leave. the guy did sound convincing.
i knew it was better to stay there because, they had food and numbers.
aslong that crazy fanatic bitch was dead they were safe.

Whats fucked up was I called the ending out the moment they left the store...My wife asked me how I knew what would happen. I told her I think its because americans are getting tired of the all warm and fuzzy endings...

good flick. some of my friends work at cafe fx (the firm that did all of the cgi) and were telling me abunch of stuff about this film while they were working on it, like frank darabont (director) had originally intended to make this movie documentary style, with no soundtrack and first-person/handheld camera views, like in cloverfield.

The movie was cool, had a fun time watching it. Did you know they built the flamethrowers at the end with ONLY home depot stuff? Crazy... Back on topic. The lady that left the store to get her kids was at the end, anybody else see that?

EDIT: She was on the back of an army truck.

If the movie had a better budget and better cgi it would have been one of my favorite movies in a long time.

The sci-fi channel type cgi kinda killed it though.

I liked this movie despite the killer ending. I wanted to see them blow up that giant creature walking across the street when they were escaping the store.

that's weird, I just saw it for the first time too.

the special effects did suck.

I know it was si-fi, but the idea of the military making a portal between worlds was kinda dumb.

I thought the ending was dope.

Movie just sucked horribly. Shoot Half Life has a better story.

half-life takes elements from the books. movie sucked. Hell cloverfield had better monsters and that isnt a compliment.

yeah when that lady got shot we all yelled and starting laughing cuz that's what she deserved. but the ending was pretty good.....teaches us to see things all the way through, dont just give up because you think its over, because you never know what kinda break you'll get.

I saw that shit in theaters...

The ending made me go "Oh my dear jesus... That sucks so bad."

I had read the book before that, but still, seeing it makes it that much worse.

Back when I read the novella, I was waiting for them to do a movie of it.
I wasn't disappointed.
I just wish we got to see more creatures, the huge one towards the end that walks across the road is awesome.
