this all started by trying to do a z32 rear brake conversion on my s14. i could not get the hub out of the upright. took it to a local shop to have it removed, and they actually seperated the hub. when talking to my local dealership, apparently its not to be taken apart, and now i need to get a whole new hub assembly. cant i just get the ball bearings i lost and the seals?
some please shed some light on this for me. thanks.
here is a pic if that helps

yes you can IIRC, since they are pressed in. Working with dealerships for a living, i've come to know how they work, which is upsell, and try getting you to purchase the whole thing

thats bs. either get a bearing splitter or chop the race (spl) piece off, then buy new bearing assembly and you're done.

no man, those are sold as sealed units everywhere. Good for low maintence service life bad for repair service. you may be able to match the bearings up at a local shop but you may as well be better off just getting the whole unit for less trouble.

frsport definitely sells rear hubs without bearings, so you should be able to get bearings to press on. from a junkyard or whatever.
