I have a 89 s13 coupe sr20det, recently i would turn the key to start the car and nothing would happen, i couldn't figure out what it was until i ran a wire from a power source and touched it to the positive side of the starter, the car cranked right up. Im guessing it's my starter relay? Which relay is the starter relay? HELPP!!

There is a little tab connection on the starter that the connector can come off of. It just slides right on to the tab, make sure that is connected.

Yeah on the positive terminal of the battery if u have your sotck connector that came with the sr haRNESS there is a red block the has a black and green connector, i believe that the green connector is for the lower harness what i did was buy a tsunami battery terminal at auto zone and just cut the whole thing off, and whats nice about the tsunami connector is that i has individual slots for each cable give that a try i would think its that.

The car also runs great when i start it by the possitive wire to the starter and all the other accessories work when the car is running if that makes any difference

i have the lower and upper harness connected in individual slots, so i dont think thats the problem.

The starter relay on a s13 is a blue relay between the battery and the fender.
Unplug the relay and jump the two thick black wires while doing nothing with the other plug.
If it starts then you should get a new relay.
Done.
