my car is idling pretty rough but once i'm at operating temp its much smoother. still not silky, but definitely smoother. i also feel a little bog every once in a while at speed but its speratic and not often. i just cleaned my iacv and maf with intake cleaner, ran some seafoam, and replaced the spark plugs but didn't really notice a difference. no codes from the ecu, no vac leaks i can find. stock 96 ka. ideas?

I've been having similar symptoms, and went directly to the coolant temperature sensor but with no real results. hope it works out better for you. i dont want to feed you wrong information but you can test it by unpluging the sensor and noting a change? (for the worse). someone please correct me if im wrong.
EDIT: depending if it is a fuel or spark issue, for instance flooding was occuring, fpr or stuck injector(s)? has it how long this been happening?

about a week. if the coolant temp sensor was bad wouldn't that make my temp gauge in the cluster not work? its functioning normally.

No it will not effect the cluster gauge from what I am told (again my disclaimer, i would wait for another opinion), it is run seperately. do you have any problems on startup or replace/upgrade any parts in the last week? anything that could be linked to this issue.

Cluster and ECU are separate sensors right next to each other. 1 wire is cluster 2 wire is ECU. I would replace the ECU one if it has never been replaced as they are known to go bad.

i'm having the same problems. I could be way wrong but it might be the o2 sensor. check and see if those are clean. that's what i need to do with my car. I just replaced the plugs and got the same result as you so next i'm resulting to the o2 sensors.

some people run their cars fine without o2
im pretty positive as well that it is the cts. it may be giving false readings to the ecu, thinking the engine is already warm.

My car was doing the same thing, O2 sensor It was an old BMW though but just thought I'd throw it out there

Not warm but cold, causing more fuel to be pumped for a "cold startup" when it is really just adding more fuel than necessary from my understanding. Again I hope this fixes your problem.

i just replaced my CTS and it didn't help at all. at least it was cheap and easy and i didn't waste 2 hours and $100.
on to the o2 sensors.

I had similar problems and my problem was egr valve. My ecu would only kick my light on occasion but it always ran bad.replaced that and problem solved.. you can try that hope it helps..
