How likely is it that, say... while accidentally getting sideways in the rain, being on stock suspension my car doesn't like to straighten out so much but rather it snaps straight and now my fuel gauge reads full, when I know I burned like a quarter tank last night lol. So I'm thinking that the fuel rapidly shifting got the float stuck in the up position. How likely is this?

its possible, one night i hit a turn too hard and my fuel pump got knocked loose and was sitting at a very strange angle which made me bog at WOT and pretty sure fuel levels werent right. its worth it to just check out your pump.

I have a similar problem. My gauge reads correct, but the dummy light works in reverse. On til a tad under 1/4 tank, but this is why we love 240's no?

LOL that's hilarious... if it were my friend's car that had the reversed light, I would tell him, "Fuckin s13's..."

SO yeah, its rainy today, so I'll have to open up the fuel pump assembly tomorrow. I just hate how its under the rear deck in s14s...

that sounds kinda l;ike what happened to my freinds hatch we opened it up and the baffle inside had lost one of its tack points so it was moving around in there and had the float stuck on it. so i pulled out the baffle and its been fine ever since.

Its very likely. I was doing some aggressive driving with a full tank in my s14 zenki, the float came off and I had to put my hand in my gas tank to fix it. The gas gauge will read all the way full until it's fixed.

Full or half full gas tank + drifting, racing, etc = float off of hook.

LOL that's me. 3/4 tank + Forgetting how bald my rear tires are = Endlessly full tank

Anyone have a picture or diagram of how its supposed to be in there?
