well actually, cou can drive your car for a while if you you dont beat on the motor. My buddy went like 4 months on his DD with blown head gasket, so until it starts shooting smoke from the exhaust, you dont really HAVE to

Well that's good.
Means when you punch him in the face it's less likely he'll press charges. :keke:
And don't drive it unless you must with a blown HG. Just fix it and hopefully it's not your daily.

Speaking as somebody who just drove a 89 hatch home for my buddy with a blown HG, you don't want that kind of attention. The smoke is super thick and there's LOTS of it. Enough to fill several lanes.
On another note, if you were driving on Sunrise or Madison around 4:00pm last week and a piggy hatch smokescreened you, I'm sorry.

you could do damage to the head and block, the motor could potentially seize up, there's alot of things that can go wrong. if you dont want to have to replace the motor, get a new headgasket ASAP.

wha??!! $1200 to repair a motor that could have more than just a blown headgaskit. or drop in another one for about $300 that you can get anywhere. my advice would be to start saving and part out your old motor for $$ for the new one.

It may take a few hours for you, but I doubt the OP is experienced in this sorta thing.
I drove my blown headgasket 95KA for over a year daily driven with about 10 events in that time. Motor never let up once. I actually sold the motor, and its still running! So thats almost 2 years.
Dont spend $1200, get a used KA, or if you really wanna spend that kinda loot, just save for a clean SR swap.

Yeah for Sure 1200.00 is WAY to expensive for a Head gasket job. I bought my RB for that.. I agree, get a engine for 300 - 400 or save for a SR Swap (you would be happier).. And DONT drive it on a Blown headgasket... I did that once.. and it was all bad news.. Damn cop was coughing for like 10 mins.. and he still had the nerve to give me a Ticket.. LMAO!!!!
