Yeah those ones they sell of ebay just have a green lens cover IIRC not like the real green laser pens with the green light actually being emitted from the actual laser diode.
The ones off ebay you will not able to point to the stars, just have a cool green light.
If u want to be a real nerd get a blue laser pen... Cost like 700 bucks, LOL.

that's not true at all
i have a green laser i bought off ebay for about 20 shipped. it projects a green beam. it's faint, but it's there. in full darkness you can make it out, and you can use it to point out stars, although again, it's a little dim, it's not a fucking lightsaber beam like that video. but for 20 bucks it kicks the shit out of a red laser.

i like taking mine to the movie theater. not to shine at the screen like everybody did with the red ones ten years ago. but to shine on people's phones in front of me when they pull them out and start texting and whatnot. it's great, because nine times out of ten, they throw/drop the phone in terror.

The Military and Law Enforcement agencies are actually using green lasers for something similar. Though instead of "melting eyes" it is used as a deterrent at roadside check points.
It is a Green LASER "dazzler" that can temporarily blind the driver or passengers.

I saw one for 115.00 that had specs of a pretty badass one HERE (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=180259852228), but who knows...
What do you think?
200mW is that power output? Assuming so, the Higher the Better
?
vs 35mW ONE (http://cgi.ebay.com/Yukon-Sightmark-Green-Laser-Sight-Kit-SM13032K_W0QQitemZ380040357079)?

This style:

Anything over 5mw is illegal and in a pen style is most likely an over clocked one. Won't last long.

This is a legit high power one,
price difference 1,600 vs 110 lol.

Yeah, that's called "repoting" He takes that screwdriver and cranks the Potentiometer all the way up.
They thing is the cheap ones laser can't handle the increased power and burn up fast. Like CPU's 1/10 will be good enough to be a 100mw laser, 2 will be 50's 2 10's and 5 5mw's.
You're going to go through battery's and pointers. 123a last longer then AAA ones.

Now multiply that times a hundred and you get how fun it would be to own one of the ones that would melt them.
