First question... As far as I know, which isnt that far, I beleive the only significant difference between the s-14A and the s-14 is the headlights. Are the differences I am not aware of?

Im considering the options of spending less money on a s-14 and haveing the MC conversion RIGHT off the batt.

edit:

but my problem is this. I ONLY buy from the dealship when it breaks down to this kind of money. The front end conversion will no doubt void my warranty...sould I worry about this?

it depends on your definition of "significant." The taillights are different and the front end is longer for the s14a.

dont' understand your other question. is it, should you be worried about voiding your warranty if you change the front end?

dont forget the gauges, the s14 have overlay whereas the s14a gauges are seperated

Don't worry about the warranty..usually if you're buying a used car that is that old (up to 6 years) the car is probably sold 'as is' without warranty.

what do you mean? you're gonna have to change the whole front end to the s14b... fenders, headlights assembly, corner light assembly, grille, hood, bumper reinforcement, some brackets, shock absorber....

the S14b is the zenki. He wants a Kouki.

The differences are more than just the headlights like matt said. Fenders, bumper, bumper support, corners, hood, and radiator support (although the zenki one can be drilled to accomodate the headlights.) and low beam wiring harness.

and when it breaks down to this...the dealership will charge you a shitload, then rape you unless you have hookups. I've done the conversion and it's a bit of work, but nothing 2 people and some tools can't do.

Yeah, don't go through the dealer unless needed....besides we all know the best looking s14 is the 95-96!!!

Not going through the dealer for the swap, just the car. Ill do the front end myself. I am just worried about the warr. but as I see they're mostly sold as-is

warranties from dealerships for used cars will probably not be more than 3-6 months as I've seen, so I don't think you'd really need to worry about voiding the warranty. Besides, what you'd be putting on are all OEM parts, not aftermarket.

Shit...then why buy from the dealer at all....

95-96 S14 is a s14.
96-97 S14 is a S14a

Just trying to deconfuse this post a little.... No such thing as a S14b. We had a long debate on here or Freshalloy about this awhile back this is what the consensus was.

I did the conversion and I got all my parts from the dealership, but then again I kinda got a hook up on pricing.

You shouldn't worry about the warranty, because they don't last that long on a used car or nothing happens to your car until the warranty has past.

Oh yea, its past to mention the model year (95,96,97,98) instead of "S14a, S14b". "Kouki" and "Zenki" are fine, but not to many people really get it.

The plus of buying a car from a reputable dealership such as a Nissan dealership, they usually certify their used cars, which means they check it out and give it a full inspection to be sure it runs up to par.

I can get all the parts for cost, cause I'm good like that. Eitherway, I can find the parts for the conversion no problem.. but do I really want to? I dont know, confusing me to shit now... arggg.... Im gonna have to save as much money as possible and find out come June....shit damn.`

Hm...I would just save up, but don't rush on getting the front end conversion. Because it would suck to save up all that money, do the conversion, get into an accident and realize your insurance could have cut you a check for the conversion and the money you spent could have when to performance mods. This could have happened to me, but I guess things happen for a reason....now I'm planning to get a SR next summer instead of a front end conversion (because it already taken care of)

Even I know (I live in Finland and I do not own an SX, yet) that there is no such thing as S14b. The first model made after S13 was S14 and when the facelift model came it was named simply S14a (in some cases also known as S141). After the S14a came the S15 which we all know of course so I'm just wondering where did you people get the idea that there is a S14b?

Some people use S14b, because its a S14 before the changes and S14a is a S14 after the changes.

Hey do you think you can hook me up with some 97 200SX headlights?
