Make sure everything's tighten down, buy new exhuast hangers, and make sure there are no leaks. Lots of people have the N1 including me and it should give you a deep throaty tone.

no silencer. do u think its the resonator? or i was thinking maybe its the can. are u guys running the 2.5 or 3 on the can itself?

I have the same setup but 3inch piping. Shit sounds mean and deep. I do have a little rasp while clutching in high revvs but that's cuz the bottom bend is fucked from having my shit slammed on coilovers before. Bout to cop me another, damn I love that setup. <3

All 3inch piping. The tip is 3.5 and the canister is like 4.5.

get a new resonator welded in one of those vibrant ones should make it less raspy -los

it might be your high flow cat, or resonator, more likely the cat, but its probably not the Apexi's fault, i'd recommend having the muffler shop add another 2.5in ID resonator, atleast a 15" It'll be deeper, and the rasp should decrease.

its the cat. I had the same problem, take the cat out and it will sound good.

why would it be the cat?? and putting another resonator will make it more quite wont it?

Louder =/= No Rasp
Louder = More Rasp
You need to either put your stock cat back in and/or add another resonator to make the exhaust sound deeper.

I assume this is all custom piping, right? It sounds like it could be the cat and/or resonator. If there are differing inner diameters on your exhaust, it will sound like crap.
For example, if your cat is 2.5" ID, then a short section of pipe that is 2.5" ID, then a resonator which might be 2.7" ID, then some piping that is 2.5" ID, out to your Apexi N1, it will result in weird backpressure which causes some raspiness.
Also, if the welds arent clean and/or your exhaust has a crap load of slip joints, then you'll have some raspiness.

Is this a custom with an N1 muffler or an N1 Cat back system?
But I generally agree that the KA needs a big resonator to sound nice.
