Freediving

Does anyone on the socal coast go freediving or spearfishing? My friend has been doing it for awhile and finally talked me into buying some gear so i'm gonna start going out with him on the weekends and i'm pretty excited. Just thought i'd see if any other zilvians are doing the same thing.
