hey guys please help me get my SR running! I am so close... yet so far.
Ok so everything physical is done, everythign electrical is done.. but when i try to start i got nothing except the engine cranking over and over and over.
I checked for fuel and there was lots right at the fuel rail so that means the pump is working and the ECU is working... unless the ECU could half work and half not work!
The things i may not be getting are spark, fuel past the injectors or my timing might be way off... also my starter is kind of messed up does it send any signals to the engine to tell it to start? my friend suggested that.
Any help would be really really appreicated! Thanks!

This sounds like the problem I had with mine. First off check your spark if you dont have any it could very well be a bad ground somewhere so make sure they are all clean grounds. Make sure your battery is grounded as well. Bad grounds can lead to all sorts of problems.
best of luck

Like the guy stated above, check to make sure your grounds are all good. Also, pull the plug wires off the distributor cap and try cranking it over. Have a friend watch to make sure you are getting spark all the way around. Sounds like you may have a bad ground, or a bad coil possibly.

try checking your ignitor chip. i had a similar problem with mine. also check your ignition coil relay. i can send you the directions to check them if you need them.

make sure that your fuel lines coming from and going to the fuel rail are not switched, i did this when i first tried to start mine. also make sure your getting spark, just pull off acoilpack and hold it next to the plug hole while someone cranks and make sure that its sparking, do that for all coils, but be VERY carefull cause those individual coils pack one hell of a zap and could seriously hurt someone. theres probably a better way to do it but thats the only one i know. if your car is turning over than there is nothing wrong with the starter.

thanks guys! we got her running! but it wasn't spark! and it wasn't fuel getting to the engine! it wasn't even bad timing!!
it was BAD GAS! my car had been sitting for too long and i guess the gas went bad, anyways its totally non flamable now and we went to the gas station and made what you could call a home made injection system and gave the engine some fresh gas and she started right up! so today i have to drain my gas tank and put in a bit of the good stuff.
thanks for your help! <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'>
for anyone whos SR cant start and has been sitting there for a long time make sure you check the gas cause it could and probobly IS it. Even if your KA ran on it when your starting an engine that hasnt been run for a while i guess it really needs the best of everything...

I need to get some good gas in my tank too. I know mine was old but it did start up, but it wont idle real well and I know that is what is causing it. Anyways congratulations have fun with your new toy.

even with the new fuel the engine still isn't running on its self... i cant figure out why or how to figure out if the engine itself is getting fuel, and if not WHY.
any ideas? thanks guys

Check your fuel lines and make sure the fuel return line is comming off of your fuel pressure regulator. And you feed line is going to the other one.
