Its been a while since the time i tore down my engine and i dont remember how this went so maybe someone can help. My oem gasket kit came with an o ring and gasket for the strainer i dont remeber it having a gasket when i pulled it apart just the o ring. Do i use both of these or do i only need one?
Edit: sr oil strainer

KA or SR?
The KA just has a gasket.

If it an SR you just use the Gasket also
im not sure about the KA, but the SR uses an O-Ring for the Oil pump feed to the block is sandwiches beween the Oil pump and the Block, its fairly small like fits on top of your pinky
Top right side of this pic is where the O-ring goes
If its an SR

yea i used an o ring on the oil pump it was the only one in the kit that fit so i assume it was the right one. these things need to be labled lol. The kit says it comes with an o ring for the oil strainer and one of the o rings does fit into the grove on the strainer but i have the gasket also. my next question would be which way do i put the gasket in. I dont really know how to explain other then one side of the gasket is rasied and the other is not.

anybody? Don't want to screw this part up. If it doesn't seal correctly I assume that would be the end of my engine lol

hmm Thats a metal one... The IPB shows a Gasket but nomally thay are a papertype,
I guess try and install the raised facing up towards the pump. but I would go to the dealership and get the paper type OEM one, I dont trust most of these Revised gaskets and shit, also get the flange on the strainer rewelded if you look ai it its only tac welded so its not very strong

this gasket came from courtesy nissan thats the only gasket they have for it. If i were to goto a local dealership they usualy ask for a vin number for the car, will they be able to look up an sr20 or should i tell them a 91 sentra se-r?

Just call them ask them what its made of. if its a paper type go with it if not i guess used that metal one

nissan dealerships are being anal about the vin number i explained to them why i dont have one and they told me to get one off another car. I guess ill just use this gasket that i have. the problem now is that i got rid of the old oil pump and strainer cause it was busted but i think like an idiot i left the two bolts for the strainer on the pump when i got rid of it :( I do have a set i picked up from autozone. Normally i wouldnt care about using cheap autozone bolts but since this is internal and cant easily be replaced if they fail i want a second opinion.

those bolts should be fine, they are not really supporting any weight.
