So i was talking with my buddies the other night and some how we got on the odd subject of perhaps the best breakfast meat ever made by god himself! TAYLOR HAM!!!!! and how delicious it is. Then one of my friends brought up some thing that i thought was very sad! He said that taylor ham is pretty much only in my beautiful state of new jersey and some of the north east! So my question to you guys in cali(i know theres alot of you) and every one else in this beautiful country! Have you ever eaten or even heard of taylor ham/pork roll??? If not i highly recomend it for its greasy and delicious!

Pork Roll is bomb and tastes NOTHING like spam...

My parents bring back like 20 pounds of that and pizza every time they go to New Jersey.

Mmmmm, pork roll, egg, and cheese on a roll. My favorite breakfast. A diner by school makes really good ones. Used to drop by there for breakfast before school quite often.

Yeah maybe if it had a fried egg on top.

Fried egg goes well with just about everything.

Except tuna melt. Found out the hard way on that one.

Taylor Pork Roll is up there though, it's pretty good.

06-12-2008, 05:27 AM
isn't longanisa like chorizo? my gf's parents eat all that stuff. just look like regular sausage to me, but taste kind of sweet...i've always passed by taylor pork roll thinking it looked kind of gross...but maybe i'll try it. Oh and for the guy that said scrapple is the sh*t, isn't scrapple native to philly? oh and i don't want to get into why i never ate scrapple either...

How the hell do they stay in business only retailing in NJ?!

Because... a LOT of people there eat it? I'm pretty sure there's just not a large market for it outside of Jersey.

Trust me! A real lot of people eat it here! Taylor ham is apparently more new jersey than the boss himself (Bruce springstein).

P.s local deli up here in north NJ makes a super fine breakfast sandwich called the heart attack! Taylor ham/sausage/bacon/egg and cheese on a long roll with salt pepper ketchup!!! Honestly one of the best things ever!

99maxgtr
06-12-2008, 06:05 PM
kind of off topic but best sandwich ever is a fatcat/fat bitch/fat moon/ fat fuck whatever your sinful desire is and something no one has outside of jersey. cheesesteak/chicken fingers/frenchfries/mozzarella sticks/lettuce and tomatoes/ownage. Of course different variations with different names. But none the less best sandwich ever!

8,724,560 people in NJ as of 2006. Ranked 11th in population. Don't think it's too hard. It's not Wyoming.

Aww man, you can buy scrapple and taylor ham together! http://www.jerseyporkroll.com/products.htm
