Ok so when i had stock rear brakes/e-brakes, my e-brake cable was hitting my 1 piece DriveShaftShop aluminum driveshaft, so I disconnected it temporarily. Couple weeks later I installed Z32 rear brakes and e-brakes, with R32 e-brake cables. Start driving my car and I hear the same damn annoying noise of the cables hitting the weights on the driveshaft.
I've tried loosening/tightening the e-brake handle, and messing with the adjusters on the e-brake backing plates themselves. The cables are attached at all the factory mounting locations, and screwed in to one of the arms coming off the knuckle (factory mounting loc)
I'm at a loss here as to what to do with this damn cable. It's only the left cable that's hitting.
Thanks in advance, guys

try re-routing them to avoid this problem. that and extra clamps to hold them away from the drive shaft. get crafty, shold be like 2 self tappers and a couple of brackets to get it all good.

Thanks for the inspiration Tenchuu, I'm going to hit up Napa tonight and see if I can "get crafty" with the annoying cable. I'll let you know how it goes.

mine does the same shit..... you can find the different ways people have made brackets by searching, some brace off Rear Sway bar, others off the factory holes, others subframe, really the best would be all 3... Also did you cut off the little aluminum dangle things from the Z32 cable? and if its just hitting a bit try and use the adjuster screw.... Until i get mine fixed i just pull the ebrake 1/2 way up and its fine, doesnt engage ebrake but takes the slack out of the lines. hope this helps

I took the aluminum things off and put the ones from the stock s14 lines on it, to utilize the stock mounting locations.. maybe i put too much slack in the front portion of the left cable. that's definitely worth looking into though. Tonight I'm going to try to see if I can get something to push it up and hold it up. Thanks INeedNewTires!

get some zipties
the kind with the hole in them for nailing up wires
and some self tapping screws
that is a cheap easy fix

OK got it all fixed up. I used some big channel locks to bend the factory bracket up a bit which helped, and then i used 3 zip ties to hold up the cables super tight against the metal shield that was in the tunnel. I was going to drill a hole and use screws with these cable hold downs I bought, but the gas tank is right behind there, haha. There were two holes already in it, they were actually rusted out, I don't know what was originally there, but I used super strong, big automotive zip ties to pull them up snug.
Thanks for all the input everyone! ^^
