I listed my car on autotrader and I get a text message and e-mail from UK. At first I'm feeling a bit weary . . . cuz. . . don't they have s14s in UK?

they are called 200sx's.. but yes.

Our S13s came with CA18DET
Our S14s came with SR20DET

As mentioned, both of the above were called 200SX

Those are the only engines in UK cars. I have no idea why this guy contacted you, since we have no shortidge of UKDM and JDM S-bodies in England!

I had a similar experience happen to me and a buddy of mine a whiles back.
We listed his MK2 GTI for sale on ebay and someone from the UK
won the auction....
the weird part was he sent a check mailed from the UK but was addressed in a bank from the US under another persons name.

The check was for like $6K USD and we sold the car for $200 USD
He wanted us to ship it a certain way and transfer the funds to his bank account...

It got really weird and everything seemed like some kind of scam
In the end we just stopped communication and tore up the check

^ Definitely sounds like a scam! No-one would go to the trouble of getting a car shipped from the U.S to the U.K when theres perfectly good examples here. I mean, a $200 mk2 golf?!!?
