Today i went to replace my front brake pads. I went an got some OE spec replacements for the local Auto parts store. When i get to put the pads on, i notice that they are to small. I go back to the auto store, and tell them that they must have given me the wrong pads. They checked the numbers and all, and said no there the right ones.
I have the guy check the ABS pads, and what do you know, they are the right size ones that i need. My car is a non ABS car. Is it possible that someone before me put on ABS Calipers? This seems kinda odd that i had to use ABS pads on my Non ABS Car. Im just wondering about this and had to ask.
Besides the ABS system it's Self, whats the main Difference between ABS and Non ABS? Bigger pads/Rotors?
TIA

the computers could have just been wrong. it happens all the time. I work at advance auto and shit in the computers are always mixed up. sometimes they show part numbers that arent even close to the vehicle.

lol. yup gotta love it.
honestly, the best thing is to always bring your old shit in and match it up. I dont trust the computers very much cause they're always 'working' on the network.

Its been a while since I had my stock calipers on (up to brembos now) but the first time I replaced my brake pads I bought ABS brake pads because I have a ABS car. I went home to put them on and turns out Nissan put non-ABS calipers on my ABS car. Nissan is weird.

All 97-98 calipers use the larger ABS pads, so do 92-94 convertibles, as do all 89-96 ABS equipped models of course. Someone could have easily swapped them before you got the car.
