Right now i have a cold air intake (injen), Full catback N1 duals. Does a header make a big difference like everyone else says they do? How much do they go for a 1997 240sx? Which kind should i buy, a 4-2-1 or 4-1 for high end power (in which i need most) and what brand is the best to look for. Any help will be appreciated, thank you.

The 2 brands used the most are Hotshot and Greddy. I believe the hotshot headers added more HP than the greddy ones, but werent CA emissions legal. (im not too sure on this, so someone please correct me if im wrong. I dont want to give out misinformation)
well thats my 2 cents.

IIRC the hotshot header requires you to remove your cat and the greddy one does not. so here in NJ no cat means no passing inspection, cuz they do a visual to see if you have a cat. i'm pretty sure i'm right but somone correct me if i'm wrong.

I personally feel that it is worth it. Let me tell ya, it is a bitch to install. When cruising, you don't really notice anything, but when you gun it to get up a hill or to get up to speed when entering the interstate, it is awsome, it really kicks in about 3500 - 5000 rpm, very nice.
The confusion about the cat, can be easily cleared up. On a S14, you have the cat, that is very close to the firewall of the car and then you have a cat look-alike a little further down. The hotshot is going to extend to real close to where the cat look-alike starts, that is where you need to connect an aftermarket cat, then your cat-back. That is currently how my car is setup.
