For an ECU to malfunction and blow up? It seems like every 240 i've had, this is a problem for me. I just wanted to see if it's my bad luck or if others have had similar problems?

:yum:

Woa that sucks... that's never happened to me nor have i heard of that. I've heard of shorting them out on occasion. That's some bad luck.

Yeah this last one shorted out. Just hope when i replace it that it doesn't happen again. It's the first time in this 240 that it's happened. I gotta start tracing wires i guess?

Do you modify the wiring or ECU in any way?
Or wash/wet the engine bay without taking precaution of critical components?

damn, well if the same thing keeps happening, id start tracing wires. I got an extra Auto ECU if you need.

ia it OBD2? Hehe.

No i didn't modify the wiring at all. No washing of the engine bay happened recently, i WAS driving through a huge thunderstorm with very heavy rainfall. But is my car going to die everytime i drive in the rain?

LOL, it is a 240 so it's possible. It sounds like you have more bad luck than anything else, if it were me I'd trace some wires just to make sure. Good luck with it.

it snows a lot in Canada
maybe road salt/gravel keeps eating through your fender harnesses

no water traces next to your ecu? check your wires for short.

Lol no, the car wasn't from Canada. I will be doing more investigation when i get it back! So you guys mostly think its just bad luck? I hope so!
