Before the onslaught begins... I SEARCHED! :D
The only "rev limiters" i can seem to find for the SR is the Bee*R and MSD. I've counted the MSD setup out, cause you gotta buy a few other things too, and i dont wanna. So for around $250 the only the only "rev-limiter" system is Bee*R huh? I've heard people refer to it as a "misfire system" but its really not, correct? Yeah, it causes backfiring and flames if the GAIN is turned way up, but if its adjusted properly will this unit cause any detrimental effects? Thanks.

techtom has one as well (but i heard a rumor that it was discontinued might be able to pick up a used one somewhere)
could always do a eprom and have them change it or remove it

if you find it for 250 then by all means buy it, new there like 360 plus shipping and you probably have to wait cause its coming from japan, i am currently trying to get one, I havent heard of causes where the hurt however depends on why you want it, for drifting with a turbo car there good cause if your bouncing off rev then your running lean while do so and thats never good, with this it doesnt cut off the gas while hitting the limitier, The fire and such is also caused by this not cutting out the gas when hitting the revlimiter, it is not however a misfiring system, if it was no one would want it because it would be eating turbos for breakfast lunch and dinner. Based on the info I gathered searching google I want one, Check out youtube for videos as well. hope this helps
Edit: also this can be used as a launch control, on the controller are to settings as well as the gain and setting one is for your redline, setting 2 is hooked up to a switch of some sort like the ebrake and can be set as another limiter example a launch control.

For $255 actually, its new.. I think i'm gonna get it. = D
If it sucks, i can always sell it or use it as a paper weight

The Bee-r just allows you to ignition cut but have it still dup fuel, hence it just spits fire out... You can't raise the rev limit on the engine with this unit, you need to reflash the ecu or get a standalone to do it. There is ne for sale in the for sale secion right now. Its just a gimic so you can spit fire out your tail pipe nothing else.

how is it just a gimic?? if im bouncing off rev and not getting fuel does this not mean im running lean?? with this you can only set the limitier lower but it still dumps fuel and idk about you but with a turbo car i would rather have fuel..
and 255 can u PM me where? ive seen 360 and 345 but wasnt anyone reputable

I never said i was looking to RAISE the rev limiter, i simply want an alternate means other than the stock "fuel cut". I'm not gonna raise the rev limit above 7K without some top end work... I just want some extra reliability. I could give two shits if it spits flames or not, i'd rather it didn't to be honest.

you could megasquirt your SR, it has a bunch of goodies built it, such as fuel and ignition cut

like said above. all a bee*r does is let you select when the ecu cuts spark from the motor. You set it at 4k the ecu will cut spark off at 4k but will still dump fuel in the motor. I think its a great product. If you get one and install it on a ka do a write up please. I hate banging the factory revlimiter at 7,200 it fills unsafe.

This will be on an SR. And it's gonna be while before the install. But for everything i do once i get home, there will be a write up and detailed pics to go along with it to document the entire build process.

well from what i have heard the stockl limit is 7,200, but last night i got my car running with the RAS, and we had it bouncing at 7,800
so u don't really need to raise it anymore than that with stock head and cams.
but regardless of when you do it, plz make a right up for the rest of us poor saps.

From my understanding, the MSD worked better/safer than the bee*r one or something to that effect. If that is true, don't be lazy just because you have to buy more than one part.
On that note, KA people should learn how to search. This pic has been up forever. I know there are more. This is just the only one I felt like digging up.
For those of you who ever plan to install a BEE*R Rev limiter on your s14
Red is ignition
Black is ground
White(optional)-ebrake switch
The brown loop wire is cut for 4cylinder, looped for 6.
Yellow-pin 44/40 is your reference signal(1degree)
Green-41/45 is your 180degree signal.
This was on my s13, I revved the crap out of the motor and the headgasket took a sh1t. So it'll be installed on my s14.

You have any more info in the msd revlimiter? i have the msd sport compact ignition and msd blaster coil on my car now.

It's not the fact that i'm lazy, beacuse there's not an ounce of lazy in my body. But, i don't nessecarily want MSD ignition on my car. So, why waste money on something i dont want... And i'm not sure how the MSD unit is "safer" it does the same thing, cuts spark at a desired set RPM. The only way it might be safer is because the Bee*R has the option to tune the "gain" or amount of cut.

Why do you keep typing in bold?
I dont know, i like they way it looks. It's easier to read... No reason specifically i guess. Why have the option to edit your font size/color/font if you cant use it?
