My engine is pretty dirty, not greasy, but it has oxidation on it. What is the best way to clean it, and with what formula? I'm looking for something that wont damage the electrical system. Please help.

You can use engine de-greaser..it usually helps clean it up...

Orange Clean works pretty well. I also use ArmorAll to clean the plastic components on the engine.

I'm all about the foaming engine bright and a GOOD power sprayer... like above 2.0 or so. Just try not to spray down your alternator and intake if it's not stock

Dunno about your anodized stuffs. . . but I just spray mine down with Simple Green then hose it off with the stream outlet on my hose handle. . . . Seems to work out OK, car still runs

Edit: For oxidation, a degreaser wont work as well. You are going to have to scrub with something different, mebbe a tarnish remover.

get a can of engine degreaser and a brillo pad.. that's good for the metal.... i usually just hose it down with the engine cleaner stuff at the do-it-yourself pressure washer.

Engine sprays are only good for the initial degreasing of the bay, after u degrease and pressure wash it, dry it, and use armor-all protectant whipes...they work wonders, spend a good amount of time on it, and it will come out BLING.
