Hey guys,
well after I did my 5 speed swap awhile back, I started up my car with a push start. I'm kinda getting tired of using the push start and I want to start my car using the actual clutch / key.
I'm not really sure how to do this, I was reading some 5 speed swap, but didn't see anything on the starting.
Acouple of my friends told me about grounding the automatic wire or something like that.
If anyone has any input, i would gladly appreciate them.
thank you.

If you are talking about the neutral safety switch you can bypass it. On automatic to manual swaps you have to bypass it so the car will start. Or you can install one under the clutch like a stock manual car if you want the clutch to be engaged when starting the car. I would suggest the first option. Lift up your fuse box on the passenger side and there will be a plug with one black wire and one white wire. Cut it behind the connector and crimp them together and you will be able to start your car.
If this isn't your problem then disregard.

Both you guys are trying to be helpful but that doesn't answer his question.
S13/S14?
I have no idea how your push button is wired so it could be a complete wiring nightmare.
Intuitively, you just have to connect the load wire on the button to the starter pins on the ignition harness. S13s have 2 starting wires: starter solenoid and ECU.
Otherwise, until someone sees what you have, it will be very difficult to tell you what to do.

Was I misunderstanding a push start to mean that they pushed the car to start it rather then a button you push to start the car?
If that is the case I apologize, haha.

I thought he was asking about how to wire it to start with his key instead of having to park on hills or getting pushed off and shit, personally.

push start button.
2 wires, one from the starter, one from the battery,
don't really like it.
perfer starting with the key.
been giving me some issues lately, seems like if i hold it to long my idle will be stupid stuck at 1500 rpm. if i do it just right, it will be at 800 rpm idle.
and for some reason, when i bought the car, the dude said he changed the starter, so about a month or two later, the starter gives out, and the battery dies, i get a new starter, and use an old battery off a friends 240sx, then just yesterday the battery died, thought it was the starter again, but the car woulnd't crank at all. everything worked, but it woulnd't crank, pushed started it, and it worked, and we use jumper cables and it worked, put the negative and positive together and mine hardly made any spark, showing the battery is completely almost dead, we go to my friends shop, and he lets me borrow his optima battery for the time being, problem solved.
but im trying to start my car rather with the key than the push start button.
i dont mind if i dont have to engage the clutch or not, as long as i can start using the key, i'd be fine with it.
thanks for all the input, i gladly apprecaite it.
1995 s14 by the way. ;)

Sounds like an alternator problem to me. Check out your alternator connections. Better yet check your entire lower harness over there, make sure everything is completely tight and plugged in all the way.

eh, maybe its not charging right, maybe it is.
when i first got the car, there was battery acid almost everywhere, it pretty much spilled out and rusted that little portion of the car, just a little bit. so im guessing that battery was pretty much almost dead.
replaced that battery with one that was also dead but charged, but once a battery is dead, it will never be the same, now im using an optima battery, works great. :)
i just wanna start using the key instead of the push start button.
sorry about making it kinda confusing,
im talking about the push start button just to clarify things ;)
thanks.
