Does anyone have a in-dash MP3 player in their car? If so what kind do you have, how much did you pay for it and are you happy with it?

Just looking around for a early X-Mas present for me &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'>

i personally dont have one, but i always am riding in my cusin's car. &nbsp; He has the Kenwood KDC-MPV7019. &nbsp; Its pretty cool. &nbsp; The background colors can be various different ones to match your interior color scheme. &nbsp;THe buttons can also be green or red. &nbsp;ITs cool. &nbsp; Its really easy to use, the display has big characters to be easy to read. &nbsp;I like it....i may get one as soon as my pioneer head unit breaks.

For those that have a MP3 Deck does it take like 2-5 seconds to switch from song to song when listening to MP3's? My old Kenwood Z919 was like that even though it was top of the line. Maybe they have changed for the better by now but Id like to know if the new ones still do this before I buy another.

I have the Rockford 9300 head unit, i paid 300 about a year ago i don't know how much it goes for now. &nbsp;I love it i can fit over 200 songs on a cd and it never gets played out.

West- My mp3 player doesn't take any time to change tracks, it changes just as fast as if you were listening to an audio cd

I've got an Alpine CDA-7894 and I couldn't be happier...I had burned tunes onto a CDRW to take with me on a road trip this past summer. I started listening to the disc when I took off on my 4+ hour drive, and when I got there, I still hadn't heard the same song twice. I had even skipped over some and the disc wasn't even nearly full! As for tracking time, it tracks just like a regular CD would...

that's good to hear because my JVC and my friend's Pioneer take about 2 seconds to switch tracks. they should have make the track switching fast when they started making mp3 players.

i don't know the specs, but i'd bet $$ the Clarion is better. but it also depends on what features you need.

I say... CLARION!

I want to get an Alpine as soon as I get some money. Oh, how I hate my factory cd player.

I havn't heard many good things about jenson on anything so I'd go with the clarion.

just a note - i have a clarion pro-audio head unit, not an mp3, but a cd changer.

the controls are very clumsy, you nned to look at it a lot when trying to manipulate it. &nbsp;the functions are great, but hard to access while drving. - it has about 45 buttons that are all the same shape, so you need to look and fiddle with it to change schtuff

just be sure to actually "test drive" the ones you are looking at if possible
