View Full Version : HELP car not starting after 5-speed swap =[

heyy guys i just finished up my 5-speed swap.... i hooked up everything did my safty wiring and now my car wont start... any ideas?....


when i try starting the car there's a pop and then everything dies and no more power.

what did you do about the neutral/park sensor wiring i take it you spliced them together or did you use lower harness for a mt car.

Take a picture of the plugs by your fuse box in the engine bay and post that. You have to loop the top plug in order for the car to start.

Here is the write up I used, my friend who is an electrician helped and simplified some of this. My reverse lights don't work - it may be the instructions or that we did something wrong:

if you did all your wiring right, then your battery probably doesn't have enough volts to crank your car. happened to me last night. i thought my starter gave out again, but the battery was just too weak to start it up.

its actually not the top plug you have to loop its the bottom one, its almost under the fuse box. unplug it cut it and wire the 2 together, loop it. i think its a white and black wire or something. and make sure that thing is plugged all the way in, make sure it clicks because i thought mine was all the way in and i was trying to start it and no bueno.... and then i pushed on it again and it clicked and then i started my car :) thats the only wiring i did, and the speed sensor.
