Hi. Im looking for a short throw shifter for my SR20DET swap. will the OBX short throw shifters that fit a 240SX tranny fit the SR20DET tranny as well? Does anybody have any positive or negative experiences with what brand to buy? Websites, links? Thanks!

All 240sx Short Shifters will work in the SR20DET. The OBX is nice for the price but some people say they can come apart but its never happened to me, and if it does you can fix it very easily. Might want to check out the GB on the the B&M SS that Enjuku is offering.

I'll give you a real good deal on my old OBX. (PM me if interested)
My SR came with a C's (at least I think that's what it is, looks identical to OBX).  Both shift about the same and feel great compared to stock.  But if you have the cash I say go for the B&M, that's what I want, but due to the $$ diff I settled.

I had the OBX.  Now I have a B&M.

I'm sure if you *did* a search, you would have read what I have to say about them, but I'll repeat myself anyway.

OBX = good shifter, good price, decently short throws, fairly precise, QUIET, comes apart if you twist on it.

B&M = awesome shifter, not so good price, extremely short throws (think Miata or MR2), super precise, NOT quiet, will never ever come apart.

With the B&M, you have to get used to the fact that you can hear the gears meshing together (it's a solid shaft, so the vibrations travel up through it and come out the end of your shift knob).  But the rewards you reap by using it are second to none.  I love this shifter.  Worth every penny of the $250 cost.

I have a B&M and absolutely love it, well worth the money. Shortens and firms the throw to a point that you would have to really try and force a mis-shift. I have yet to feel another short throw that feels as nice.

for that kinda money might as well get the best in the market, a C's &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>

well, the C's and the B&M are totally different monsters. &nbsp; The C's is an excellent product, yes. &nbsp; But the B&M includes an entirely new top plate, it's totally assembled when you get it, and it's totally solid. &nbsp;None of this 2-piece business.

Trust me, the B&M is a "better" shifter...the C's will be quieter though.
