Gas here isn't enough for something that drastic yet LOL. I think I might pick up a bike if Gas hits 4 dollars here for the summer like it is projected to. Save the 1k as a downpayment on an '08 R6:

I don't care what I drive to go to work and get groceries. I'd drive one... anyone laughs and I'll just laugh right back that they're so vain that they need to spend a bazillion more dollars on gas then they need to at these super high prices.

For under 1k and 40+MPG? Why not? I'd get one of the four door trunk models though. They look a little better. More like a regular car. A gf of mine had one... Decent room and super good gas mileage. It just didn't reach any speed above 75. lolz

I saw that story, the lady was driving a Honda Element and getting ~28mpg and spent $7200 on a '96 Metro in order to get 40mpg. Someone calculated that, given the amount of driving she does (which was mentioned in the article), it would take her ~300 years of putting around in that rattletrap piece of shit in order to recoup the cost of buying it. People are so fucking stupid.

Last month I saw a Ford Festiva on 24's. Cut out wheel wells, gold flake, fuzzy dice, the front and rear wheels were almost touching each other, too legit.

In high school one of the redneck kids drove a chevy sprint. In auto shop they made a prerunner bumper and would go jump the car on the dirt roads all over the place :p

If I want to start saving $$ on gas I'm going to get a scooter or a bike I think...

05-27-2008, 01:49 PM
Scooter or Motorcycle doesn't have AC or a second seat. Nice steel shell to protect you.

I keep dreaming about motorcycles.

I saw about 4-5 of those 'Smart' cars today, and stopped by the Merc. dealer to look at them.

Throw a hyabusa motor in one and it would be sick.

Brand new there 15k, and get 41mpg. lol I seriously wouldnt mind having one for a DD and turn the s14 into a track only car.

I think it's pretty ridiculous that a pair of seats with 4 wheels and a lawnmower engine costs $15,000 and only gets ~40mpg. 40? Smart, my ass.

The only time I see them being a remotely good idea is if you live somewhere like London where it's so highly populated and the streets are often very narrow. Maybe NYC.

fer realz. i've spent right @ $3k for the tercel to come in @ 49 mpg. and that includes the cost of the car itself ($1200)

My neighbors got one and is stoked on it, then again it's his first car and he bought it for the large sum of 500 bucks.

I honestly thought these things got better mileage. I'd rather lose a few mpg and have the peace of mind of driving a Honda.

gas is like 10 or 20 bucks more. ppl waste a shit load of more money at the mall. im not gonna be bitching about gas. America is still of the cheapest countrys for gas.
