The ones that run along the frame rails under the car...

I remember do-luck selling them a while back for like $400....

Saw some for pretty cheap on ebay and was wondering if anybody uses them?

I searched like 4 different forums for feedback on these things and found nothing...Do they make a difference or is it just a gimmick?

They will be for an s14

I would also like some feedback on ladder bars as well.... saw those for cheap on ebay as well....

Thanks

From everyone I've talked to, it's better just to get a cage. By the time you buy all these little bars to go everywhere, you could've had a cage put in and be stiffer and safer.

There is the side of the argument about cages being dangerous the street. So I suppose these could be an alternative for that route.

Just something to think about.

Yeah I was about to purchase a RXB bar and rear strut bar as well but decided I might as well get a 4 point roll bar instead...

Im looking at the autopower race version at the moment just because my car is a daily and I would like to be able to remove the cross bar when I feel like gangsta leaning

The ladder bars are only like $60 each and the frame rails are only like $120 so was just wondering if these pieces are even worth it from people who have had them before

I don't put much faith in eBay knock-offs, even when it's simplistic stuff like STB and such.

To each his own though. Good luck.

Hopefully someone will chime with personal experience for you.

Its not about the bar.... its about the quality of the bar. If you get junk bars, it doesn't do anything cause the bars will twist with the chassis, hence useless....

I had all the old DoLuck stuff on my old car, RXB, FLB, RLB, and floor bars. The FLB makes a noticeable difference because of where it sits, it's filling a span that's basically void. The RLB not so much since the rear rails aren't tied into the rest of the chassis.
The RXB also made a notable improvement in chassis flex, to the point of the doors not sagging when jacked up from one side.
I sold all those but kept the floor bars, mainly because I just love how they look. I didn't notice much with them but my old car was so braced and tight I probably wouldn't have.

I noticed an improvement in high speed steering reponse. Also in all around braking. Chassis was definately stiffer.

I paid 40 for mine. Why not.

^ What an informative post.
You can say that reply to fucking ANYTHING.
Seriously, why even post that, thirsty for that post count.

Anyway, i have real Do-Luck floor bar in my car and I felt a little difference in higher speed turns and such. Nothing drastic though.

I have those bars and they do the job. I autoX and there was diffantly a difference in hard braking after the install.

Here is my car with a few pics of them installed. I can get you pictures of the entire install.

I'm not one to argue with peoples opinions, but you won't meet many 240 owners who have as many bars as I do, so my car speaks for itself.

^very informative post! Thanks for the help..

I might just get the autopower roll bar and call it a day..... I really need to start working on the engine/body instead of buying a ton of braces and roll bar on top of that

Just an FYI, the three Autopower bars I've seen installed fit like ass and require some rigging to look right.

search floor bars 240sx on ebay.... one of the links gives picks of them installed...

^thanks for the heads up.... Ive seen one installed.... it looked ok and seemed to stiffen up the chassis nicely and everyone seems to really like em..... still debating tho.

I might just get random bars instead just to keep my interior looking nice and keep the weight down:)

So I already have a Safety 21 cage (7 pt), it's welded. I guess I might have to look into these bars, I was looking before I got a cage, posted a few questions up on Northwestnissans but nobody had any helpful input, this thread does seem to have some decent answers.

About six years ago we discussed all the braces and bars heavily on that other forum. There's PLENTY of shit out there that doesn't do anything except look cool, I bought into that and had bars every three inches somewhere. It was like a jungle gym. I've installed the knockoff floor bars, they're not horrid but could use better welds. I actually have the DoLuck aluminum floor bars, I ordered steel because I couldn't justify the price difference but they sent the wrong ones anyway, they were drop shipped through RareTrick and no one would return my emails, so I kept them. The knockoffs are exact in the fitment but the hardware is a bit jankier. If you've never installed them or even seen them on a car, you'll have no idea what you're doing, they come with some crazy ass brackets and other weird shit, I laid under the car for an hour trying to figure it out. Also, you can no longer use the OE jack on the pinchweld since the bar sits flush against it, you'll need to make a new piece to fit in the jack head or notch the OE one.
For the front ladder bar you need to drill a hole in each frame rail, there's a peg that locates the bar but US cars have that hole filled in, it's there but with a piece of sheetmetal behind it. The driver side is hard to drill because the steering column is in the way. After that it's a simple two bolt install and you can tension it in the air to tighten the chassis. I don't know if the knockoffs have as good a turnbuckle though.
The rear ladder bar is an easy four bolt install with nothing required unless you have a 96-98, then you'll need to move the EVAP canister bracket just a bit. Completely self explanatory on it.

you are a fucken critic aren't you... yeah i posted what i said because i wanted my post count to be super fucken high.. im sooooooooooooooooo elite...on zilvia... why dont u brace some more retarted things on your car, go drifting and slam your head into the concrete wall...because you forgot to brace your seat with 1/4 steel plate...instead you got internet guru happy and found a better way to make seat brackets out of soda cans and superglue...

roll bars... floor bars dont really do shit... unless your so jdm tight...

Wierd. When I installed the duluck front cross bar I didn't have to do any drilling.

But then again that was many many years back. So I could be wrong.
